The Atlanta Vipers are 1 of 48 teams selected for the 2010 Louisville Slugger Independence Day Exposure Tournament in Longmont, CO. Congratulations ladies!
Sunday, August 2
5th Place at ASA 14A Nationals
The Vipers made a run at 14U ASA/USA Nationals. Finishing 5th in a field of 122 of the best teams in the country, the Vipers made a case that they belong with the elite teams in the country.
The Vipers finished pool play 2-0, earning a #1 seed. In bracket play, the Vipers went 6-2 with two, tough, 1-run losses (to the other 5th and 3rd place teams). Our goal was to win it and we made a run at it, coming up a little short. Our chances presented themselves, but we were not able to capitalize on the opportunities that would have put us in the "show". Nevertheless, we are SO proud of our girls and their accomplishment. They proved they belong all week and went toe to toe with the best. We are proud of you Vipers!

Vipers Co-Champs of Swing Into Spring Tourney
4/26: Congratulations ladies on a solid weekend of play (6-1). The Vipers found themselves in the loser's bracket after a 8:00 AM Sunday loss to the Bandits (2-1). Our ladies battled all day in straight games against tough competition to get to the Championship round at 4:00 PM. Waiting were the Bandits again. This time the Vipers came out on top 2-1 to force a "if" tiebreaker. After a 2-2 "if game" shootout tiebreaker inning, both sides decided we had nothing left to gain on the day (we've played 8 times already this year) and called it a day. Thank you to all the teams that participated in our fundraiser tournament this weekend! Good luck to you all in next weekend's ASA Qualifier.
Sunday, April 5
April 4th: Vipers earn USFA Spring Fever Championship
Congratulations ladies on going 4-0 and claiming your second tournament championship of the young season. We didn't score a lot of runs, but 4 games of shutout ball was a nice weekend accomplishment.

Atlanta Vipers Headlines
November 16th - ESA Fall World Series (16U) Tournament - For the weekend of Nov 15-16, the Vipers traveled to Lovejoy Regional Park in Hampton, GA to play in the ESA Fall World Series. The Vipers participated in the 16U division with 18 teams in attendance. The weather was frigid, but the team wanted to get in one more tournament before shutting things down for the Winter months. After two days of ball in tough conditions, the Vipers win the Championship.
The Vipers cruised through Saturday winning their first 3 games. In the nightcap, with temperatures dropping and a bone chilling wind, the Vipers faced their first test of the day against the GA Invasion. Although a pitcher's duel for most of the game, the Vipers came out on top 3-1.
Sunday brought sunny skies, but mid 40 degree temperatures. In the first game against a solid GA Heat team, the Viper's defense was having a hard time thawing out and surrendered their first loss of the fall 6-5, putting them into the loser's bracket. By the second game, the Vipers looked back in form, beating the GA Invasion 8-0 and setting up a rematch with the GA Heat in the Championship round. Back in gear, the Vipers win the 1st game 4-0, forcing an "if" game. In the "if" game shootout, the Vipers would finally prevail after 3 innings 4-3 and take the Championship.
For the Fall abbreviated season, the Vipers finish with a 20-1 record, 2 Championships, and an undefeated Exposure Tournament. After playing softball for 10 straight months, the team is looking forward to a well deserved break. See you in February!
November 9th - Rip It Elite Classic (16U) Tournament - For the weekend of Nov 8-9, the Vipers traveled to Cumming, GA to play in the annual Rip It Elite Classic. The Vipers played in the 16U division. The momentum and team chemistry built from the previous weekend's exposure event carried over as the Vipers finished 6-0 and won the championship. The Viper bats were on fire this weekend, scoring 54 runs in 6 games. Likewise, the pitching and defense were on display as the Vipers allowed only 9 runs. Congratulations ladies! Excellent job!
November 2nd - Southern Xposure Tournament - For the weekend of Nov 1-2, the Vipers traveled to Hoover, Alabama to participate in their first College Exposure tournament, The Southern Xposure, hosted by Team Bama and Alabama ASA. This was the first tournament for the 2009 version of our team. The Vipers participated in the 16U pool of teams and also took on two additional games against 18U competition. With the goal of stepping up the competition level, the Vipers passed their first test, going 7-0. Congratulations ladies on getting off to a great start.

Team History
Prior to the Fall 2006 Season, this Viper team was previously known as the '94 Elite Panthers. The Panthers were formed in the Spring of 2005 as a 10A team. This team qualified for ASA "10A" Nationals in 2005 where they went 7-2 and finished 7th in the Nation.
In 2006, the team moved up as a 1st year 12A team. The team competed against the 2nd year teams all year and peaked at the right time, earning a second consecutive berth to ASA Nationals in 2006 in the 12A division. The Panthers played a competitive tournament finishing 2-3.
As the team moved to the Vipers Organization for 2007, we welcomed a talented group of young ladies from throughout GA to the core of original Panther players. As an experienced 2nd year 12A team, the Vipers went 66-18. The team won the ASA GA State Championship, won the region HOF Qualifier, qualified for ASA Nationals at the HOF in Oklahoma City, OK, and won numorous other top area tournaments. The team traveled to Roseville, CA to participate in ASA "A" Nationals. Unfortunately, the team chose the wrong time to mis-fire and finished t-25th out 64 teams. Not bad, but definitely not what the team was capable of or had set out to do to start the season. It was a good lesson...and we will and have learned from it.
For 2008, the Vipers moved up to 14U. With a team loaded with talent, great attitudes and work ethic, we quickly established ourselves as one of the top teams, even as a 1st year 14U team. We finished the year 60-28-2 playing the toughest schedule we could find and again qualified for 14U "A" Nationals in Midland, TX. At Nationals, we had the misfortune of running up against our older Sister team, Vipers - Berry. We lost to them 7-5 for a T-25th place finish out of 83 teams. Berry goes on to take 4th in the country...outstanding job.
For 2009, the bar was raised. With ASA Nationals being hosted in Atlanta, GA, we wanted to represent our state well. The goal was to prepare ourselves and push ourselves to be in a position to compete for the title. Dedication, Effort, and Enthusiasm were our themes. The team finished the year with a record of 87-17-2. Key accomplishments were qualifying for ASA Nationals in GA's first qualifer and winning the ASA GA State 14U Championship. To cap the year off, the team did compete for the ASA National title. We came up a little short, but a 8-2 record resulted in a T-5th finish. Our first top 5, second top 10, and fourth top 25 finish as a group. Excellent job ladies!
For 2010, the landscape changes. Our ASA National's goal stays the same, but now we enter quickly into the world of college recruiting and College Exposure tournaments. We look forward to the challenges and experiences that await us.

Co-Champions USFA 16A GA State
The Viper organization was out in force this weekend as Vipers (Dean) and Vipers (Berry) took a Co-Champion finish at the 32 team USFA 16A GA State tournament. The Viper teams had finished only 1 inning of the winner's bracket final when the rains came and cancelled the remainder of the tournament. Congratulations to the Impact Silver and Crusaders as they both were still alive and the last two slugging it out in the losers bracket before the rain. The Vipers (Dean) defeated the North GA Blazers (16U), GA Fire Red (16U), Warriors (16U), Chattanooga Express (16U), and the EC Mad Dogs on their way to the showdown with Vipers (Berry). The Vipers will enjoy the July 4th Holiday weekend and then get geared back up for ASA State in two weeks.

Vipers Finish 4th out of 26 teams in first ASA/Nationals Qualifier
The Vipers made a strong showing this weekend in the first ASA Nationals Qualifer for GA. After finding ourselves in the loser's bracket after a tough 6-5 ITB loss in the second round to the GA Xtreme Black, the Vipers find their gear and run off 5 consecutive wins. Unfortunately, Vipers-Berry put it to us to send us home with 4th place. Congratulations to the EC Mad Dogs for their tournament win and securing the first Nationals Berth. Congratulations also to our organization's Viper-Berry team for a great run as well and a 2nd place finish.

Vipers finish 3rd at ASA Season Opener
Vipers played well this weekend beating the GA Pressure and '94 EC Bullets in pool play. Bracket play got off to a great start with a 7-6 ITB win over the EC Mad Dogs. Sunday started off well with a 4-1 win against the EC Bullets Blue. In the Winner's bracket final, we ran up against a GA Heat team that we didn't know much about. They proved to be a great team and got us 3-2. Next up were the EC Mad Dogs again. This time they would get the best of us 4-1. Vipers played well but came up a little short at the end. Congratulations to the GA Heat and EC Mad Dogs. We finally got a good tournament in despite "iffy" weather and it proved to be a great tune-up for next weekend. Next weekend, the quest begins!
