Thank you for volunteering to be a Little League Umpire. During the season, I will send out a schedule by email listing each game. Please reply to me for each game that you would like to work. I will try to accommodate requests, but I want to ensure that veteran umpires are placed on the higher division games. I also want to make sure that the new recruits have a chance to work with the experienced umpires in order to learn more.
It has been Little League’s policy from inception that umpires are volunteers. In support of that policy, ASWLL does not pay umpires. We do have a program to help defray costs. To start, by volunteering, the league will provide you with two shirts and a hat. Additionally, each game that you umpire, you will earn a $3 dollar credit that can be used to purchase extra equipment or help pay for your child’s registration. The league also has some “loaner gear” at each field for anyone who would like to do a plate game but does not have their own equipment.
