Thursday, May 15 DUGOUT BEHAVIOR May 14, 2008 Little League Parents and Coaches,As Safety Officer, I must assure all efforts are taken to prevent player injury. If there are any concerns regarding any safety matter please contact me at 827-1272. Dug out behavior is a safety issue that must be addressed. No player should be placed as risk of injury due to an unruly dugout. Our Little League supports values of teamwork, loyalty, and courage. As Safety Officer, I must assure proper action is taken to prevent similar behavior. The coaches are volunteering their time and efforts to teach players the fundamentals and passion for the sport. Managing a team is challenging and of course dugout oversight is part of the job, but should not consume. Each parent must assume responsibility for their own child’s behavior. While enjoying the game as a spectator, the parent must be aware of unruly conduct and support the coach by ending it promptly. Please have a conversation with your player about appropriate team and individual conduct to avoid any unfortunate situation. If you are in question of how to approach this, merely open the conversation asking the player what he/she should being doing during the game. I must enforce that each player is expected to pay attention, be alert, and keep their eyes on the game and ball. At no time should any player be touching anyone else. Bats are not allowed in the dugout ever. They must be kept outside in the gated area. There is also no tolerance for swinging the bat unless in the batter’s box. Excitement is expected, but supporting the team while in and out of the dugout is imperative. Please continue to support your child and the league to afford our children the best experience while learning The All American Game.Sincerely,Amy Hildreth Ashburnham Little League Safety Advocate Thursday, May 15 KICK OFF RESULTS (RUNNING AND RADAR SPEED PITCH) SPEED RUN (BASE RUNNING) TEEBALL 1ST EMMA TABOR 8.37 SECONDS 2ND ORRIN FIELDS 8.41 SECONDS 3RD PATRICK FORBES 9.03 SECONDS COACH PITCH BASEBALL 1ST ETHAN HINSK 7.55 SECONDS 2ND JACOB HEWITT 7.72 SECONDS 3RD JAKE PACARD 7.78 SECONDS MINOR BASEBALL 1ST ADAM GOGUEN 7.03 SECONDS 2ND NICK CEFOLE 7.19 SECONDS 3RD DALTON BRISBOIS 7.35 SECONDS MAJOR BASEBALL 1ST DOMINIC ROMANO 6.56 SECONDS 2ND RYAN POULIN 7.00 SECONDS 3RD AUSTIN SHOOK 7.09 SECONDS MINOR SOFTBALL 1ST SYDNEY BOUNO 7.43 SECONDS 2ND ERIKA HALL 7.71 SECONDS 3RD REBECCA BEHRINGER 7.43 SECONDS MAJOR SOFTBALL 1ST MICHELLE LEBLANC 6.54 SECONDS 2ND KALLIE NAPOLITANO 6.75 SECONDS 3RD LIZ DUGAS 8.37 SECONDS
