The Ashland Youth Basketball Association (AYBA) was created to implant the spirit of competition and the ideas of good sportmanship, honestly, loyalty, courage and respect.  We only endorse positive attitudes of all our participants, including players, coaches, parents and spectators.  The purpose of the AYBA is to organized and maintain an intergrated program of basketball activies to all boys and girls in grade three through eight in the AYBA district and to provide competent supervision for each program.  AYBA is also an organization that will work with the Ashland High School basketball programs to enhance those programs.

The AYBA hosts a 4th to 6th grade Saturday programs which its mission is to support, teach, and develop our 4-6th graders as young basetball players.  Futhermore, we intend to offer as many young athletes as possible a chance to develop their skills, learn the basics of baskeball, learn working as a team and to enjoy the game.  As they develop their skills they will have the opportuinty to play games later in our weekly sessions.

We also offer traveling basketball for 5th to 8th grade in both boys and girls divisions.  Tournaments are held during the months of December to mid March and each grade leval competes with teams from across northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.  Travel teams can expect to play from 3 to 5 tournaments depending on grade level.  Each tournament will consist of 4 games each day and are completed in a one day setting.  Transportation is provided by players family and is usually with in a short distance of Ashland.

The AYBA is a volunteer association run by a Board of Directors that are basketball enthusiasts from the Ashland area that want to see kids involved in this great sport.  This board has members of the assiciation that are both appointed and elected by its members.  Representavice come from the High School Basketball program, the Middle School program, our AYBA Traveling program, parents of participants as well as the Ashland High School Athletic Director.  We encourage participation from all parents and individuals that want to see a successful basketball program in Ashland.
