Hello League Friends and Family!

 
Drafts: February 6, 2010

  •  (Player Agent and Managers only)

     

    • Draft will take place in a confidential location where the Managers and the Player Agent will assign players (that have already tried out) to teams. You should receive a call from your child’s Manager by the end of the day on February 7th with information to start practices, etc. Practices should begin no later than Wednesday, February 9, 2010.
    • Please note: ONLY players with completed paperwork files will be allowed to try out and thus be drafted.  All incomplete players will be assigned randomly once paperwork is complete. 
  • General Meeting: March 6, 2010
    • Edendale Middle school cafeteria/multi-purpose room
    • Mandatory parent meeting
    • Check with your Manager closer to the date for the exact time!
    • Uniform shirts will be handed out to players that have all paperwork completed..
    • Meet the Board of Directors
    • 50/50 raffle at the door. 3 tickets for $1 and 20 tickets for $5. At the end of the meeting we will pick a ticket and the winner will receive 50% of the cash that we collected and the rest will go to the league!
     
  • Opening Day: March 13, 2010
     
    • Line up with your team at the Bayfair Mall parking lot outside of Macy’s near Chevy’s at E. 14th side at 7:30am.
    • Parade starts at 8am sharp. The parade travels E. 14th South bound to Ashland Ave and then into the fields.
    • Check with your Team Mom and Manager for details on what to bring and how you can help get your team ready for the parade.
    • Players should come in full uniform but NO cleats!
    • Parents watch the parade from the sidewalk.
    • Opening Day Ceremonies will start at the field as soon as all teams have arrived and lined up around the Don Thompson Sr. Major Field.
    • We are looking for all past players, Board Members and friends of Ashland Little League to take part in our Opening Day Parade and Ceremonies. If you know of anyone that has been affiliated with Ashland Little League over the past 50 years, please tell them to join us on Saturday, March 13, 2010. If they want to walk in the parade, they need to be at bayfair Mall near Macy's by 7:30am. If they want to be there for the ceremonies only, they should be at the fields by 8:30am.
    • Volunteers are always welcome:
    If you have already signed up, we could use some volunteers to help with cleaning up the fields and doing some flyer canvassing of our neighborhoods. Come on down to the field starting at 8am on Saturday, January 9 and Sunday, January 10, 2010 to help out with either of these things.

    Chuck E. Cheese Fundraiser.................................................................Wednesday, February 17th

    • Chuck E. Cheese located at 24039 Hesperian Blvd in Hayward next to Toys R Us
    • Time: 3pm to 9pm
    • Flyer with 10 free token coupon attached
    • Tokens should be purchased from the register and not the token machines to qualify.
    • Mention Ashland LL everytime you make a purchase on this night.
    • 15% of our purchases are donated back to the league!

    District 45 Rules Clinic...............................................................................February 20, 2010

    • Redwood Christian School in San Lorenzo. Located at the end of Paseo Grande.
    • The clinic will run from 8:30 - 3:30
    • District 45 will provide Togo's sandwiches for lunch for all attendees
    • Everyone is encouraged to attend!

     

     

    Little League Outreach clinic (Optional) (Stockton)....................................February 26, 27, 28, 2010   

     

    • No registration fee
    • You will need to cover the cost of your hotel stay.
    • This is very similar to the weekend clinic in San Bernardino that normally cost $75.

     Work Party.............................................................................................Saturday, February 27, 2010

     

    • Come at 8am down to the fields to help us clean up and get ready for opening season.
    • Clean up the fields, snack bar, bathrooms, paint, landscape, etc.
    • All parents, players, families and friends are welcome.
    • Community service hours letters will be issued, if needed.
    • This is an annual tradition to have all of our league family come out and help get the fields ready for Opening Day!

     

     

    Chili's restaurant Fundraiser.......................................................................Monday, March 8th

    • Chili's is located at Bayfair Mall at the corner of E.14th and Fairmont Drive
    • Fundraiser is from 3:30pm to close
    • Bring the fundraiser flyer (flyer will be emailed in March) with you and give to your server
    • 10% of the nights proceeds from all purchases (except alcohol) donated to the league

    Ashland Little League,  is participating in a on-going cell phone drive fundraiser! We are collecting working cell phones! Working means that the phone can be turned on and connected to a service provider. Any working phone is accepted regardless of age, make or model!
