Registration for the 2010 Spring season has opened. The Ashland Lacrosse Club is gearing up for its ninth season in the Spring 2010. Registration materials have been posted under the "Handouts" link in the left hand margin. Be sure to fill out all three forms (registration, waiver, and school release). A flyer, which has information on the upcoming season, is also available under the "Handouts" link. A tentative schedule for both the boys and girls teams is also under the "Handouts" link. Practice officially begins March 1, but other pre-season lacrosse opportunities are being sponsored to promote conditioning and skill development. Lacrosse is a physically demanding sport, so we encourage players to begin conditioning for the season NOW!!
The Ashland Lacrosse Club will sponsor its 5th pre-season camp beginning February 16, 2010. The camp has been divided into a high school level camp (grades 9-12) and an elementary/middle school (youth) level camp (grades 4-8). The high school camp is designed for more experienced players while the youth camp will be geared to those players with previous experience and to those players new to the sport. A camp flyer with pertinent information is available in the "Handouts" link in the left hand margin.
We will once again be selling Ashland and Patrick Henry Lacrosse t-shirts and sweatshirts as a fund raising activity this year. We continue to try to provide your children with a positive lacrosse experience, but we need your help to be successful. Order forms are available in the "Handouts" link in the left hand margin. The Board would like to express its thanks to all of you who have contributed to fund raising events over the past couple of years. We raised enough money to pay to irrigate the Viking game field, which will be completed by January 1, 2010 (weather willing). This will ensure a quality game field for lacrosse.
The Ashland Lacrosse Club, like most athletic clubs, relies heavily on volunteers to keep our organization running. There are many opportunities for you to participate. Please contact Kevin Nelson at kbmmn@aol.com for more information.
Since our fields are administered by the Hanover County Parks & Recreation Department, we must follow thier rules related to closures and cancellations. If schools and/or parks are closed due to inclement weather, then all lacrosse activities are cancelled!!!
