ASC CRUSH Bring Home the CUP In The "Elite" Division At The Prestigious JEFFERSON CUP!  Crush are the 2009 Jefferson Cup Elite Division CHAMPS!!

The CRUSH were crowned the Champions of the Elite division in the 28th annual Jefferson Cup Tournament in Richmond, VA on March 21 and March 22, 2009.  The Jefferson Cup is currently ranked the #3 youth tournament for boys and #5 youth soccer tournament for girls in the United States.  It has become associated with tournaments such as the Dallas Cup, The San Diego Surf Cup, WAGS Women’s Tournament, and the Disney College Showcase as one of the five premier North American tournaments in the country.  The Crush finished pool play undefeated with a record of 2 wins -1 tie - 0 losses.  The Crush scored 10 goals and allowed 2 during bracket play.  The Crush finished pool-play as the top seed from group A and advanced to the finals and would face off against a familiar foe in the Northern Crew ranked #7 in PA.  The Crush girls were looking for a little redemption this time around and hoping to avenge a loss from back in November to this same Northern Crew team.  The final proved to be a very tough test and the game was hard fought with both teams looking to bring home the top prize and be crowned CHAMPIONS of the 2009 Jefferson Cup Elite division.  The Crush girls were up to the task this time around and finished the game on top with a convincing 3-0 shutout win over the very talented Northern Crew.  It was a great weekend of CRUSH soccer with many highlights and memories that the girls will carry with them for many years to come.  Great Job girls!!

The Crush participated in the 33rd Annual WAGS Rael Vodicka Memorial Tournament over the Columbus Day weekend October 11-13, 2008.  The WAGS tournament is ranked by GOTSOCCER.com as the #1 girls soccer tournament in the United States.  The tournament hosted 332 teams from all over the United States and points beyond.  The U11 age group alone consisted of 36 of the TOP teams from VA, MD, ENY, NC, EPA, AZ, WPA, and NJ.

The Crush finished pool play undefeated with a record of 2-1-0.  The Crush scored 6 goals and allowed 0 during the pool play.  The highlight of the pool play was a hard fought 0-0 draw against a very tough and talented team, East Meadow Explosion from Eastern New York.  Crush finished pool play as the top seed from group A and advanced to the simi-finals and would face off against a familiar foe in the ATSC Rowdies Blue from VA, who finished as the top seed from group C.  The Eastern New York Explosion boasted
the same record as the Crush at the completion of pool play.  However, based on goal differential ENY Explosion was declared the wildcard team and would play in the other simi-final match against a rough and tough Patriots FC team also from Eastern New York.

The Crush simi-final was a hard fought game but in the end the Crush advanced to the finals with a tough 2-0 win over a very competitive ATSC Rowdies Blue team.  As luck would have it, the stars aligned and what was left unfinished during pool play, would now have to be finished.  The ENY Explosion also won their simi-final match (1-0) and forced a Crush vs. ENY Explosion re-match in the tournament finals.  However, this time a winner would have to be decided on the field.  With the WAGS CUP on the line, the two teams battled and the game was back and forth.  In all....  over the course of two full games,
these two teams battled each other for over 2 hours and still no score.  At the completion of regulation time the score remained tied at 0-0.  The teams played two 5 minute overtime periods and still the score remained dead locked at 0-0 and the winner would have to be decided in a PK shootout!!  After two complete games (120 minutes) and two 5 minute overtime periods, the winner would be decided on the field.  With emotions running high and the girls on the brink of exhuastion after a gruling weekend of soccer...  the Crush girls were able to convert and bring home the CUP in dramatic style!!

It was a great weekend of soccer with many highlights and memories.  However, there is one stat that stands out and the coaching staff is most proud of.  The Crush played 5 extremely tough tournament games over the course of the weekend.  In all, the girls
played over 5 hours of high level soccer and the team didn't allow a single goal and posted 5 shutouts!!  Great Job girls!!  8)

2006 WAGS and 06 post season tournament - CMSSL tournament results - WAGS Spring season 07 - and 07 post season Virginian - combined results

The Crush have compiled a very respectable record of 25 - 3 - 0. The girls have scored
an amazing 163 goals and allowed only 17 in all 28 games. The Crush has posted 16 shutout victories in 28 games played. Those stats alone are very impressive, but I have to tell you from a soccer guy... the most impressive thing is not the goals or the goals allowed..... The most outstanding thing from this season can't be measured in the stats column or the goals scored or goals allowed. These girls are really playing a beautiful style of "possession" and "ball control" soccer!! The ball control, possession, individual ability, team work, movement on and off the ball, passing, dribbling, switching fields.... and at this age "Finishing"..... these girls are putting it all together and making it look pretty!! If we can continue to do all of these things, continue to play a nice style of soccer.... the goals for and the goals against... along with the win - loss record will take care of itself.

2006 Indoor National Championships - Regional Championships - Rockville, MD.
The Crush took on 4 of the best teams the East Coast has to offer in the 2006 Upper 90 National Regional Indoor Championships on December 16'th and 17'th in Rockville, MD. The Crush finished with a record of 3 - 1 - 0 and were crowned the 2006 U9 Regional Finalist.

Coaches Philosophy/Approach/Expectations

Philosophy: Per my mission statement - Take it seriously, and be passionate about the game. However, never lose sight that it is only a sport. It is a game. Soccer when played correctly is a Beautiful game that requires physical ability, technical skill, and playing
smart. Although we are not preparing for the World Cup, our Girls need to come to practices and games ready to play hard and give everything they have when they step in between the lines. I don't ask that the kids be perfect, I don't expect them to play mistake free. However, I do expect them to play with desire, passion, and to give 100 % of themselves while on the field.

Do you have what it takes to play for the CRUSH? The CRUSH is always on the look out for committed, impact players for the Fall/Spring season. To schedule a tryout, contact Royce Brodie at rncbrodie@aol.com
