If you love Fastpitch Softball and think you have what it takes to be on a Traveling Fastpitch Softball team, Come and Join us . We are looking for girls in the 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U age groups (9 to 18 years old), so if you don’t turn 19 until after January 1st 2008 you will qualify to play in one of the age groups .

Try-outs will be held September 15th at Parker High School softball diamonds. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:00 am. Try-outs begin at 9:00 and will finish by 12:00. Please have glove and sliding shorts. If you cannot make the try-out date but would like to try-out for the team, please contact the coaches to schedule a time to try-out.

About Us:
    Lightning Softball has been coaching Fast-Pitch Softball to the girls of Janesville,WI and the surrounding area for the past eleven years. We were founded by Brandt Yantorni a very good and dedicated Janesville resident.   
    Our Coaches are committed to teaching your daughter(s) everything she needs to be successful in the sport of fast-pitch softball, at a top quality level with class, dignity and sportsmanship. We strive to be one of the best trained and informed coaching staffs in the state.

Bill Newlin;President
Is our 18u Head Coach, he has been working with kids for the past 11 yrs. By coaching basketball and softball for his children. By doing that he has committed himself to continue to serve the kids of Janesville by teaching the game.

Ken Jay; Treasurer
Is the 18u Asst.Coach and he is also our do it all guy, he handles the books and keeps us all centered on the goals ahead.

John Freeman; Vice President
John has been coaching kids for the past 13yrs and has been with the lightning since 2004. He takes over a team of hard chargers and a great bunch of kids. Also they are the 2005 Janesville 14u Leisure services CHAMPIONS.

Steve McNichols;
Steve joined the Janesville Lightning in 2005 to coach the 14u team. He has coached his daughters team in leisure services/girl scout softball for the past 7 years. He is a great addition to our coaching staff. His Team was the Janesville 14U Leisure Services 2007 Champions.
