 Welcome to the Official website of Arlington Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Division (ABR). This website was established to keep our coaches, volunteers, parents, family and friends of ABR players up to date and informed with the latest information on all levels of play in ABR. From our newest level BLASTBALL!®, through Super T-ball, machine pitch and on to the Majors, you'll be able to find info on your favorite ABR team with the click of a mouse. For a detailed description of the league, click here or on the League Info menu item on the left.
ABR has leagues for boys and girls from 4 to 12 years old, from our new BLASTBALL!® leagues to the Majors, with over 100 teams this spring. Click here or on the Divisions menu item on the left for a detailed description of each league and division.

The 11U District 7 Babe Ruth -- Arlington is hosting the Cal Ripken Division 11U District 7 Championships at Barcroft Park. The tournament starts Friday evening, June 27th at 7:00pm against Herndon. Game two will be held Saturday, June 28th at 10:00am, followed immediately with the "if" game, if needed. Come on out and cheer on your Arlington 11U All-Star team!

The season ending single elmination tournaments for our AAA and Major leagues finished up with four championship games on Saturday, June 14th at Barcroft Park. Congratulations to our tournamenet champions and to all our teams for a successful and fun 2008 season!!!

2008 Raffle Winners
Arlington Babe Ruth's Annual Fund Raising Raffle drawing was held Saturday, June 14th at 12:00pm down at Barcroft park. First prize winner of $1,000 went to Diana Wells. Winner of the $250 second prize went to Kathryn Gray. Third prize of $100 went to Bill Kellenburger.
Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all who helped make this necessary fund raiser for Arlington Babe Ruth a success!
2008 Arlington Doc Bonaccorso Summer Classic Tournament Registration
Arlington Babe Ruth Cal Ripken Division is again sponsoring the Doc Bonaccorso Summer Classic youth baseball tournament at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia. The tournament will begin on Thursday July 24, and conclude on Sunday July 27, 2008.
The tournament will use Babe Ruth Cal Ripken Division rules and field dimensions (60 foot diamond, 45 foot mound) for all age brackets.
The tournament is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Robert J. Bonaccorso, affectionately known as "Doc," who started Arlington Babe Ruth Baseball in 1980 and served as league President for over 20 years. The tournament is supported by Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation.
We will have U9, U10, U11 and U12 brackets. Competition will be limited to house league all-star or travel teams -- full-time travel or AAU teams will not be permitted to enter.
We are striving for a fun, low intensity tournament to end your season. There will be a three-game minimum (weather permitting) with individual player trophies (max 15 per team) awarded to the first, second and third place teams in each division. We will also present an MVP trophy to one player in each division, based on nominations from the coaches.
Entry fee is $250 per team. If you have a team interested in playing in the tournament, please fill out our on-line registration form by clicking here. You'll also be able to pay your team's registration fee on-line as well, using Paypal.

Lost and Found
We are renewing our Lost and Found Message Board this year. If you have lost or found an item at a recent game or practice, you can post that news to our message board. Just click on the lost and found graphic or click here to go the Lost and Found posts. You can also click on the "Message Boards" link in the left hand menu of every ABR page to get there.

Baseball Fundementals & Sample Practice Plans Available!
ABR Our old friend Jim Butler has developed some practice plans suitable for use by Blastball, T-ball, A, and AA coaches. If you're having a hard time organizing your practices, these handy plans are just the ticket. ABR has also posted a short handout on baseball fundementals. Check them out in the handouts section of the website.

Only Majors and AAA league games will try to be made up, so keep good thoughts for nice weather!
Membership Required!
We welcome any and all comers to the ABR website, but access to our team pages and rosters is restricted to members only. This is a security measure on our part so parents will feel more secure about having information and pictures of their children posted on the website. Of course, no security measures are foolproof, but we do what we can.
If you are an ABR coach, parent, player or fan, you may fill out our membership registration form that will ask you some general information questions. Please also indicate your child's name, team, and coach. Your membership request will be forwarded to the webmaster. Once the webmaster has your request, you will be approved if you have provided all the appropriate information. If the webmaster needs more info, you can expect an email asking for additional information. Once you respond with the answers, you will be granted membership. You may also email the ABR webmaster at the time you register with this information (along with the username you choose when you applied for membership) and your application will be approved a little more quickly.
