Wednesday, March 5

I (Mackenzie Powers) received this picture from a special family. Katelyn is 13 years old and has unfortunately been suffering from bone cancer the past few years. Her cousin come up to me some months ago explaining her situation and wanting us to sign a ball. Instead, myself and coach Chris decided to give her a signed lady Red Wolves softball jersey. Katelyn played softball for many years until She was unable to, in fear of her health. She loves the game of softball. I couldn't imagine what it's like to not be able to play the game you love. When I got this picture it just made my heart melt and remember why I do what I do for the ASU softball program. We may just be a club team but we couldn't imagine not playing this sport. I'm very blessed and very thankful for my ability that I will never take for granted.  I wish I was there to see her open her gift but the picture says it all.

 Merry Christmas Katelyn!
