ASVC Semi-Professional Volleyball Team

Team Phoenix is a Womens Semi-Professional Volleyball team owned and managed by Lopez family and sponsored by the Arizona Saguaros V.C.  Team Phoenix will operate at the highest amateur level of indoor volleyball.  Our home court is a state of the art facility complete with four courts, lockers, professional training room, workout facility and stadium seating.

We are looking for players who have finished their college careers or who did not attend college for volleyball but possess the skills needed to perform at the highest level.  If you are looking to continue your volleyball career and play local, national and international volleyball then this is the program for you.  We are scheduled to kick off this program in 2010.   

The Vision:

Team Phoenix will provide quality family entertainment to the community, while providing for the development of great individuals through the teaching of the Sport of volleyball. We will accomplish this by providing a junior volleyball program from ages 8-18 years old.  This program will act as our feeder program for future top level players.  We believe that volleyball has the power to educate, discipline, build character, and bring people together as one of the world's most popular indoor sports.

The first step in promoting this program to the community is to host exhibition matches in 2010-2011 with local community and state colleges and eastern United States programs.  The Phoenix will also participate in international tournaments in Puerto Rico and Mexico to gain valuable international experience.  Our program owner Rosario Lopez has been negotiating with several international federations on the cost of tournaments and accommodations for this program. 

The first international league Team Phoenix will participate in is the Circuito Veracruzano Semiprofesional de Voleibol Fememil.  This league is based in Veracruz Mexico and features semi-pro volleyball.  We will travel to Mexico to participate in this league and we will host teams from Mexico to play international exhibition matches in our home court facility.    

Recruitment Player base for this program:

Players will be scouted or recruited at the junior club and college level for interested and qualified players.  But you do not need to be a scouted or recruited player to participate.  You can contact us and let us know who you are and that you are interested.  Each player will have to attend a tryout combine.  

All interested players must contact us to be placed on the tryout list. 

The main travel squad will consist of an 18 active player roster plus an inner squad or practice squad that will consist of 10 players that are still junior club or college players.  Members from each squad will attend national and international events.

What we will need from you:

• A copy of your birth certificate and picture ID
• You will need to sign a Waiver of Liability form to get your tryout number.
• No fees are needed this is a 100% sponsored team

Uniforms:

Our uniforms will feature the heart of what Phoenix Arizona is all about.  They will be custom made and trademarked especially for our program.  The Lopez family plans on providing our Phoenix players with only the very best in world class volleyball equipment and apparel.

These tournament dates are on Sundays only.  The Southern California tournaments will be turnaround road trips.  Leaving Saturday night and returning on Sunday evening.  The reason for a large team roster is to accommodate our player’s school and work schedules.
