Upcoming Events

  1. December 12th 2009 we are hosting the first annual Ice Breaker tournament at our gym site.  Our 14-1, 15-National, 17-National, 18-National will be participating in this event.  All players and coaches must be at our facility no later than 7AM.     

  2. Uniforms will be ordered by Dec 8th 2009, please check the 2010 Club Team link to check if your name is listed.  If its not your uniform will not be ordered.  Also check with our front desk to view your uniform order sheet to see if one is on file.

  3. Parents we need to make sure that all paper work is turned into the front desk as soon as possible.  If you still need to get a birth certificate turned in please do so as quick as possible.

  4. January 9th, 10th we will be hosting a 12U tournament in our facility and on January 16th, 17th and 18th we will be hosting the 13-14U Arizona Kickoff in our gym.  Please make sure to check with the front desk for volunteer positions.  This year we are working with Kingdom Courts to provide a top notch event in the best facility in town.  Our 12-1 and 14-National will be participating in this event. 

  5. December 19th we will host the Arizona Region State Finals for the Boys division in our facility.  Again volunteer positions are needed.

  6. Scheduled car washes will be scheduled every time we host an event in our facility.  This is help with facility rental fees and equipment fees.  If you need more information about this please contact Tracy at the front desk.  The first scheduled car wash will take place on December 19th.  We need a volunteer to step up and take charge of the car wash schedule.        

  7. January 2nd 2010 we are hosting the Arizona Region Ref and Score keeping clinic please make sure to schedule with your coach to attend this events.  At least six members from each team must participate in this event.  Coaches please send players who have not attended this event in the past. 


Parents and Players 

 

 

As you all know we are now in a first class facility with four courts and workout room available to us.  It is no doubt going to be the finest facility in the valley.  And as you all know we have lowered our monthly tuition rates to $100 per player.  We are best deal in town!  That is why we are asking that you get off the bench and into the game. 

  

It is important that all parents and players in our club get involved and volunteer to make the tournaments that we host in our facility a first class event.  Your cooperation is imperative for the smooth operation of our program.  We cannot afford to hire personnel to run our program tournaments.  It is up to each and every member of our program to get involved and make our season a success.  We are asking that each family contribute at least 20 hours per season.  Our club is going to host about two or three tournaments per month everyone should be able to get their hours.  If you volunteer make sure to sign the volunteer list with Anthony Ledesma so your hours can be recorded.  

 

Below you will find some details that need to be assigned.  You can pick one or two and arrange to work the next tournament that we host.  We are starting with hosting the boys events in October.  The schedule can be found on our club calendar.  Just pick a date and contact us to let us know you are working.  You will be given your assignment when you arrive.

Staff Assignments:
  • Parking Lot Detail (two staff members)
  • Door greeters (one)
  • Information desk and Team Check in (two staff members)
  • Court staff (one staff member per court) = 4
  • Bathroom and Trash Pickup detail (two staff members)
  • Coaches and Referee Lounge facilitator (two staff members)
  • Arizona Saguaro BISTRO (two staff members and one or two servers)
  • Equipment setup and tear down crew (four staff members)
  • Vendor and recruiter facilitator (one staff member)
  • Rosario Lopez or Anthony Ledesma will handle all incidents of a critical nature.

Total Staff needed to run tournaments: 17 Staff members every tournament  

   

Detail Descriptions Parking Lot Attendees:
Attendees will direct traffic to the appropriate parking areas and resolve any parking issues. 

Door Greeter:
Welcome all attendees to our facility.  Assist with directions to courts bathrooms and seating.  Also direct or escort any VIP guest to their seats. 
(VIP Guest include but are not linited to: College Recruiters, Arizona Region Board Members and staff, Club Directors)
 

Information and Check in Desk:
Welcome all attendees and assist with information about the tournament or the facility.  Also check all teams and give out tournament schedules and information.

Court Staff:
Assist attendees with seating and assist referees with the smooth operation of your court.  Plus provide information to the coaches and players on the location of their team camp.

Bathroom Detail and Trash Pick up detail:

Check the bathrooms every hour make sure all amenities are sufficient.  Also take out the trash when needed.  Check in at the front desk to log bathroom and trash pickup.  

 

Coaches Referee Lounge Facilitator:

Make sure that the lounge is well stocked.

 

Bistro:

Assist Executive Chef Daniel Lopez in the smooth operation of the bistro to make sure we are in compliance with all vendor and food rules and regulations.  Set-up and tear down bistro area.  We will also need two servers for the box seats.

 

Equipment Set up and Tear down Crew:
Assist with set-up and tear down all equipment must arrive at least one hour prior to the event.  Or the night before the event which ever is more applicable.

Vendor Facilitator:
Will work with the vendors and assist with locating their areas for vending.

Recruiter Facilitator:
Work with local and national recruiters in providing known information about a player or program.  Also provide VIP seating for viewing athletes of interest.

 

Arizona Saguaros Responsibilities

  • All staff members scheduled to work the event will arrive at least one hour prior to the start of the event.
  • We will provide no less than 20 staff members for every event
  • We will provide equipment Crew who will complete site inspection
  • We will be sympathetic to the needs of Marc T Atkinson gym
  • We will double check staff assignments
  • We will provide proper credentials to staff members
  • We will ensure chain of command for the safety of all attendees
  • We will mark all court numbers
  • We will provide a professional trainer for athletes
  • We will clean the gym site before the tournament begins and after the tournament ends.
  • We will ensure that all site director responsibilities are followed.
  • We will provide toiletries
  • We will provide waist removal
  • We will provide all tournament paper work
  • We will report all incidents of a sensitive nature to the proper authorities
  • We will work with custodian schedules to maintain the gym during our weekly practice schedule
