Sunday, July 10
Caddo River American Wins AA Small Town

 Caddo River American defeated Sevier American in the finals of the AA Small Town State Tournament held at DeQueen, Sunday afternoon to claim the title of AA Small Town State Champions.  Caddo River American went through the bracket undefeated.  Caddo River American will now advance to the AA State Tournament to be held in Texarkana along with Dierks, Sevier American, and Caddo National.

Wednesday, July 13
Dierks Wins AAA Small Town
 Dierks won two games on Sunday afternoon to capture the title of Dixie Youth AAA Small Town State Champions. Dierks defeated Caddo River and then defeated Lafayette County to reach their goal. The Gurdon Baseball program, once again hosted a very sucessful tournament.  Lafayette County was awarded the Sportmanship Trophy.

Saturday, July 16
Dierks Wins Small Town Majors
 The Majors Small Town Tournament was hosted by Nashville this past weekend.  Dierks defeated Caddo River in the final to claim the state title.  Both Dierks and Caddo River wil now advance to the State Tournament to be held in Searcy.  Congradulation to both teams.

Sunday, July 17
Texarkana East wins AA State
  Texarkana East when through the 12 team AA State Tournament undefeated to win the AA State Tournament in Texarkana.  Texarkana East had to defeat a tough from Ashdown in the finals to claim the title. Texarkana East will now advance to the Dixie Youth AA Regional Tournament to be held in Cleveland, Mississippi. Ashdown, Nashville, And Texarkana West will also represent Arkansas in this tournament. Thanks to the Texarkana Baseball Asso for a very sucessful tournament.

Tuesday, July 26
Texarkana wins Major State Tournament
  Texarkana outlasted Ashdown in the final game of the Majors State Tournament to earn a trip to the Dixie Youth World Series to be held in Moore County, NC.  Ashdown will advance to the Dixie Youth O Zone World Series in Madison Heights, Virginia.  Good luck to both teams.

Thursday, July 28
Texarkana West Wins In 8
  Texarkana West pushed the winning run across the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning to win the final game of the AAA State Tournament, 8-7.  Texarkana East won the first game of the day to force the final game.  The two Texarkana teams played a very hard-fought, exciting game. West now advances to Moore County, NC to play in the Dixie Youth AAA World Series.  Way to go Texarkana West.

Dixie Youth Majors Team getting ready to play

   The Dixie Youth Majors team is preparing to play on national television in the National Youth Baseball Championship, held in Memphis, Tn.  The MLB network carried their game live against the Bandito Baseball team of Spring ,Texas.  Our Dixie Youth Majors lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 6th, by a score of 4-3. The team members are:

Ashdown heads to O' Zone
  Good luck to our Ashdown Majors, who are headed Madison Heights, Va to begin the Dixie Youth O'Zone World Series.  They begin play against the State Champions of Mississippi, from Pascagoula.  The gametime is set for 1 PM on Saturday.  Click on "Ashdown heads to O'Zone for bracket.  Watch games live on JockJive.com

Saturday, August 6
Ashdown Wins Over Mississippi
    Ashdown scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first, and held on to win 6-3 over the state champions of Mississippi. Big hits by Cole Boyd and Alex Day accounted for the 4 runs. Great job Ashdown and good luck tomorrow against Bossier City, La.

Sunday, August 7
Ashdown loses hard fought game
 Our Ashdown team trailed most of the game, but continued to play hard only to lose 10-7 to Bossier City, La.  Cole Boyd besides pitching two scoreless innings late in the game, also had a big 3 run homer to bring Ashdown to within 3 runs.  Great try Ashdown and keep playing hard.  They play North Carolina and 10 AM tomorrow.

Monday, August 8
Ashdown bows out
  Ashdown again plays a hard game, but loses and eliminated by North Carolina champs. We are proud of the effort by our kids from Ashdown

Saturday, August 13
Minors World Series 2011 begins
 The 2011 Dixie Youth Minor World Series  begins in Moore County, NC today with a rain delay. Texarkana will play Winder, Georgia at 7 PM

Minors World Series 2011 rained out
 The Dixie Youth Minors World Series has been moved back to start on Sunday at the same time. The fields that the games were to be played on had to much water in the outfield area.

ARKANSAS DEFEATS GEORGIA

 The day off didn't seem to hurt the Arkansas team as they defeated Georgia 5-2. They will play North Carolina Monday at 5:30 PM (EST)



Monday, August 15
ARKANSAS SUFFERS FIRST LOST
 Arkansas loses it's first game of the AAA Dixie Youth World Series at the hands of North Carolina.

Tuesday, August 16
ARKANSAS REACHES FINAL FOUR
 Arkansas reaches the final four by winning 2 games on Tuesday. Arkansas defeated 8-5 Louisiana in an afternoon game to advance. In this game, Zander Luther had 2 of Texarkana's 9 hits. Kenner Parker pitched 5 strong innings to allow Arkansas to defeat Selmer, Tn 12-3 in the evening game. Parker Young and Fred Young, Jr led with 2 hits each. Texarkana advances to play West Robeson, NC at 6PM (EST) on Wednesday. 

Wednesday, August 17
ARKANSAS ADVANCES TO FINALS
 Arkansas advances to the final day of the Dixie Youth AAA World Series by defeating North Carolina by the score of 7-6. Way to go Hogs.  Arkansas must defeat Florida twice tomorrow to win the title.

Friday, August 19
ARKANSAS FINISHED SECOND
  The team from Texarkana represented Arkansas in fine fashion by finishing in second place in the 2011 Dixie AAA World Series. Arkansas lost to the champions from Florida in the final game. We are very proud of our team from Texarkana.

CAMERON JONES HOME RUN CHAMP
 Cameron Jones of Texarkana won the Dixie Youth Majors World Series Home Run Derby held at Moore County, North Carolina.  Cameron hit 7 homers in the first round and finished by hitting 8 in the final round to win the title.  GREAT JOB CAMERON

Saturday, August 13
2011 MAJORS WS BEGINS
  THE 2011 Dixie Youth World Series begin with opening ceremonies featuring the Golden Knights from Ft Bragg, NC.  Texarkana begins play on Saturday against Ville Plate, La. A rain delay moved this game back to a 7PM start.

Sunday, August 14
ARKANSAS STAYS ALIVE
  After losing a tough first game to Ville Platte, LA 2-0 on Saturday, they came back to defeat Virginia 12-5 to stay alive in the Dixie Youth Majors World Series. Texarkana used the long ball to defeat Virigina.  Hunter Kelly, Zack Phillips each had a homer and Tyler Jeans had 2 homers in the game.  Arkansas faces Texas on Monday at 6PM (EST).

Monday, August 15
ARKANSAS LIVES TO PLAY TUESDAY
  Arkansas defeats Texas  by 3 runs, 5-2 to advance in the Dixie Youth World Series. Jacob Knotts pitched a complete to earn the win.  Arkansas plays South Carolina tomorrow at 6 PM (EST).

Wednesday, August 17
ARKANSAS REACHES FINAL FOUR
  Arkansas scored 7 runs in the 5th inning to defeat Maple Park, SC by the score of 9-5. Zack Phillips pitched 6 strong innings in relief.  Tyler Jeans, Tyler Moreland, and Jake Johnson each had 2 hits to lead Arkansas.  One of Tyler Morehead's hits was a solo home run. Texarkana now gets a rematch with Louisiana.

Wednesday, August 17
ARKANSAS DEFEATS LOUISIANA
  Arkansas defeats previously unbeaten Louisiana to advance to the final day of the Majors Dixie Youth Worlds Series. Arkansas will face Louisiana for the third time, after losing the coin toss with Georgia.

Friday, August 19
ARKANSAS FINISHED SECOND
 The Arkansas State Champions from Texarkana finished second in the 2011 Dixie Majors World Series.  They had to play two games on Thursday to win the championship. They completed their first goal by defeating Louisiana for the second time in 2 days, then came up Georgia by the score of 6-5. Great job Texarkana.
