Apple Valley Lacrosse: Welcome

Welcome to the Apple Valley High School Lacrosse website. If you have news or information you would like posted, experience problems with this site, or have a question please contact Apple Valley Lacrosse .

If your contact
information has changed, please send an email to the Apple Valley Lacrosse link above so we can update your records.  Our primary means of communication continues to be the website, but we do send emails out as well.

Although the school will handle some of the tasks once taken care of by the Booster Club, there is still the need for an active Booster Club and parent volunteers. The work is not hard and we encourage you to work in pairs or groups. If you have questions, please send an email to Apple Valley Lacrosse .

Booster Club Meetings - 2nd Tuesday of each month - 7:00 PM - AVHS Room 153

 AVHS BOYS LACROSSE

The Booster Club meeting for Boy's Lacrosse will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10 in AVHS Room 153 at 7:00.

We encourage the parents of any boys interested in playing lacrosse in the spring to attend the Booster Club meetings.

Please visit our website for information on how to sign up to be on the email list.

The website is: http://www.eteamz.com/applevalleylacrosse.

The Swarm will be sending a rep (Shawn McCoy) along with owner Andy Arlotta and perhaps newly acquired player Zach Greer-to our meeting tomorrow night.

They will spend 20 min talking about opportunities for our two programs to team up to grow the sport in Apple Valley.  After 20 min, they will field any questions we have.

If Zach Greer is able to come, I have been told that he will be more than happy to sign autographs.  Greer is the NCAA all time leading scorer and played for Duke for two or three years before the scandal broke.  Afterwards he played for another D1 team (unknown) that was coached by his old Duke coach for his last year of eligibility.

With this addition to the meeting, our meeting may a bit longer than usual, but I feel that is a great excuse.

Thanks.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

As I am sure some of you have heard; the NCAA has changed the required size measurements of the heads used in college and SOME high school games.

The league did this to make the game "more competitive".  College players will have to buy all new heads for the 2010 season and all "old" heads will be considered illegal.

Here is the information I have now:

We (Apple Valley and all of Minnesota) are NOT required to use the new heads.  We are under the National Federation of High Schools rule requirements.

Current Apple Valley players DO NOT need to buy a head meeting the new specifications.  I am guessing that most lacrosse retailers will sell BOTH types of heads (old rules and new rules) for awhile longer.

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks.
