All games scheduled to be played Tuesday May 7th have been postponed due to the weather and continued poor forecast for the rest of the day.
APLL Photo Day is Saturday, May 11th. Each teams individual manager will let that team's players know what time they have been assigned. The picture's will be taken at Bucknell Elementary School in the area near the batting cage on Field 2 if the weather is good. If there is bad weather it will be held in the school's gym.The West Potomac Wolverines will be conducting their annual Little League Night on Thursday, May 9th at Wolverine Park. It's the last JV game of the season against Lee H.S. Little League players in uniform get free admission, a t-shirt, free hot dog and for those that arrive prior to the 6:30 start, they will get to go out onto the field as starting lineups are announced and be on the field for the national anthem.
APLL's Little League Day at National's Park will be on Sunday, June 9th when the Nationals play the Minnesota Twins. Game time is 1:35, but players will get to walk around the field on the warning track prior to the game. In addition, kids get to run the bases after the game. Tickets cost $18 and will be available at the Concession Stand beginning tomorrow. Speaking of the Concession Stand - APLL is entirely run by volunteers and we need help manning the concession stand this season. Other dates to keep in mind are:
Saturday, June 15th when APLL's Closing Ceremony will take place. It will be held at 11am at Bucknell Elementary School.
Tuesday, June 18th when the league's Annual Meeting will be held at 7:30pm. The location has not yet been confirmed.
APLL is an all volunteer program and we have been extremely fortunate to have some excellent volunteers, but we can always use more. If you are interested in coaching please contact Mike Aitken at maitken@shrm.org. If you are interested in volunteering as an umpire please contact Harold Hancock at haroldhancock@gmail.com. APLL will provide training for all volunteers. We also need a volunteer to oversee our Concession Stand operation. If interested, please let me or another Board member know.

PLEASE!!! NO DOGS ALLOWED!!!
While dogs can make good pets, Fairfax County has a law which states that they are not allowed on school grounds. We want to remind parents to please keep their dogs at home.
The risk to APLL for violation of this law is that we could loose our county permits and thus, be left with no fields to play on...and we don't want that now, do we?
In addition to the above, there is the potential health risk from dogs doing their "business" in areas where children play. They could also bite and injure, which would be a risk that can be prevented.
