Senior Blue: Welcome
|
Game#3
AgouraBlue was fired up and ready for the big showdown with the mighty Warriors fromNorth Oxnard. N.O. Red has notlost a game in 3 years, and is an offensive machine that scores on huge playsfrom their superstars, #5, #4 and #13.
Blue fell behind early on abig play by the Warrior defense, but then held their own through the 1stquarter,which ended with Blue down by a score of 8-0. Early in the 2nd quarter though, the Warrioroffense started taking over, and scored quick one of many huge runs by #5. Down 16-0, Blue started driving andmoving the ball through the air and on the ground. Blue just wasn’t getting thebreaks though, and the 2nd quarter consisted of a key injury, another big play by the Warrior defense, and another quick strike score by#5. This put Blue down 30-0 at thehalf.
Most teams would fold at thispoint, but not Blue. They came outfighting in the 3rd quarter and scored on a 45 yard run by Sean Bar,then a 50 yard strike from Nick Koshofer to Dylan George, and then another 40yard Sean Bar run. With each scoreby the Blue offense, the Warriors trotted Nos. 4, 5 and 13 back on the field totake their turn on offense. TheBlue defense had success shutting down the Warriors on several occasions, butwith their quick strike offense, it only takes the Warriors one play to turn a5 yard gain into a 60 yard touchdown. So the Warriors had an answer for each Blue score … which ran the finalscore to 50-18.
Blue showed a lot of heart andfight in the tough loss to the Warriors. The game was a confidence builder, as Blue proved, to the Warriors andto themselves, that Blue can play with anyone. Some adjustments on offense and defense, and some betterbreaks in the game … and who knows, the next time Blue and the Warriors faceoff, it can be a whole new ball game.
