The ANSLL 9/10 Americans traveled to Gainsville Saturday evening and things got going right off the bat.  In the top of the first Chris (Little Santan) Santaniello reached first as the LF misplayed his ball and then Jake Williams singled.  Jorge Torres then put ANSLL ahead with a 2 run single.

Steven Adams took the mound for ANSLL but some timely hitting by Gainsville found the gaps and ANSLL found themselves trailing 4-2 after 1.

ANSLL got two runners on in the second with walks to Tyler Krogel and Zack Carmichael but ANSLL could not push them across the plate.  Ryan Peich (aka.."mini-Ichiro") relieved Steven on the mound and sent Gainsville down 1-2-3 in the second.  Colin Corey led off the third with a triple and scored on a RBI single by Steven to bring ANSLL within 1.

"mini-Ichiro" kept them off the board in the 3rd but ANSLL was unable to move Jake around the bases after his second single of the game.

Gainsville's lead-off batter walked and then a single to center could have been big trouble for ANSLL but Little Santan came up throwing and gunned the runner on a force play at second.  Another timely single scored a run to put ANSLL down 5-3 but Garrett "Bob" Laraia nailed a runner stealing to end the inning.
 
Steven led off the 5th with one of his 3 singles and Jorge followed with a double.  mini-Ichiro continued the hitting with a RBI single.  Jake Wartel who had pinch ran for Jorge and beat a throw home on Garrett Laraia's hit to the right side.  Zack Carmichael recorded an RBI on an infield hit and then stole second in the confusion to get runners on 2nd and 3rd.  Little Santan rocked a single to left to score 2 more and ANSLL had battled back to take the lead 8-5.

"mini-Ichiro" took the mound in the bottom of the 5th and battled hard but a walk, wild pitch and bloop single generated a run to cut the lead to 8-6 ANSLL.

Steven led off the 6th inning with his third hit of the game and later scored on Jorge's fouth hit of the game and second double of the game.  "mini-Ichiro" (Ryan) laid down a well executed bunt that scored the 10th ANSLL run.

After yeilding a single "mini-Ichiro" reach his pitch limit in the 6th and Little Santan came in to close things out and although Gainsville was able to push across one runner, they didn't have an answer for Little Santan's arm as Chris K'd three batters in the 6th to give ANSLL a 10-7 victory.

ANSLL 9-10 Americans (1-1) move on to play Coles LL on Monday.
