Annadel Soccer Club, Santa Rosa: Members Rights

Members Rights and Responsibilities

The Board of Directors are elected Volunteers. Elections are held each year at the Club’s Annual General Meeting; this year to be held November 16, 2006 at Matanzas Elementary. Monthly Board meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:15 PM and are an open forum to the public (players, parents, guardians, coaches, referees, board members and guests). Call the Club Phone at 707-522-9255 for site of meeting. If you have any questions or concerns, you have the RIGHT to attend a Board meeting and contact your Age-Group Coordinator, or any other Board member. Serious concerns should be made in writing and sent to your Age-Group Coordinator or the President of the Club.

The other side of each member’s rights is each member’s RESPONSIBILITIES. Volunteer organizations are only as effective and useful as their members are active. Your coach and your board will need help. Here are some specific ways you can increase the value of your child’s soccer experience.

Serve on the Board of Directors - Time, willingness to serve, and desire to assure that our kids have a positive experience are the main requirements. There are many tasks where communication, organization and clerical skills are needed. WE HAVE POSITIONS OPEN, JOIN US AND HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Be a Coach - Many of our coaches start with little experience, but have a great desire to learn, as well as teach. The Club offers various coaching clinics and provides organizational support for any who are willing to get involved. Annadel Youth Soccer Club will reimburse fees to Coaches who take, and complete any Licensed Coaching course. Annadel will be hosting an F- License Coaching Course July 28, 29, 2006, both held at Matanzas Elementary School. If you are interested, or have any questions, call the Club Phone 707-522-9255 and leave a message for our Coaches Commissioner, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Be a Referee - Attempting to control the action of 10 to 22 young, energetic, spontaneous kids is a challenge. Attempting to keep spectators in order so the players can enjoy and play the game can also be trying. Along with enforcing the laws of the game, this is the task of the referee, and we never seem to have enough. No experience is necessary, training and support are provided and referees even get paid for their efforts. Anyone 12 years and up can be a referee. Annadel will be hosting referee courses for 2006. Information will be available at Registration (dates and time TBA). Attendance is required at all divisions of each course (with minor exceptions). If you cannot attend either of the Annadel sponsored courses, you may attend one sponsored by another club and use your license with Annadel. Consult the Press Democrat on Tuesdays in the Youth Sports section for a listing of courses to be given by other clubs from May-August 2006.

Be a Booster - We are looking for a Booster Sponsor for each team. Please contact our Booster Coordinator, Liz Bortolotto. This will assure a Booster spot for you or your company. We need your support!

Be a Team Parent Volunteer - Each coach has many responsibilities. A volunteer can be most helpful by assisting with refreshments, phoning, raffles, uniforms, equipment, parties and numerous other things. Support your child and their team by HELPING and BEING INVOLVED!
