Angus Lions' Canada Day Tyke Tournament
Every year the Angus District Lions Club hosts a wonderful Canada Day celebration at the Angus Community Park that includes lots of fun and games, great food, good music, and excellent craft and raffle tables. Then the Lions Club wraps up a fantastic day with some totally AWESOME fireworks!!
The Angus Lions Club also invite the Angus Tyke teams to hold a tournament. Last year, all the games were truly exciting to watch with some real nail-biting moments at times including a awesome triple play! Congratulations go out to the Angus Tyke #1, coached by Gord Scriver for winning the championship game. The Angus Tyke team #2, coached by Brent Walkem, finished a close second. Both of the Angus Tyke teams managed to raise enough money at their raffle table so they could purchase team jackets or hoodies. This was only made possible thanks to the Angus Tyke parents who worked so hard collecting prizes and baking some delicious items to sell at their raffle and bake tables. Angus Minor Baseball wishes to thank the Angus Lions Club for providing such beautiful trophies and medals for all the kids that come out to the tournament, year after year.
