The Andalusia Soccer Referee Club consists of referees in the Covington County area. The club is affiliated with the Wiregrass Soccer Officials Association. All referees are USSF certified Grade 8 or higher. Referees in the club officate games for the Andalusia Soccer League.

BE PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMES!!!

First, thank you for agreeing to be a referee for the fall season. As referees I know we don’t always here the words “thank you,” we usually hear other words that are not so kind.  I, personally thank you for what you do.  It’s going to be a great season. 

Here are some IMPORTANT points to keep in mind: 

Ø      Uniforms- black shorts, yellow referee shirt, black socks with white stripes, shoes, whistle, stopwatch.  SHIRTS MUST BE TUCKED IN AT ALL TIMES- THIS MEANS WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE FIELD.  The City will provide the referee scorecard and flags.

Ø      Games

• If you cannot referee a scheduled game get a replacement and notify me.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before game time.
• Clock-in and get the referee flags from the main building (if required).
• Check-in teams at 5 minutes before the game- REMEMBER NO JEWELRY of any kind, NO HAIR BARRETTS, NO PLASTIC HEADBANDS, NO WRISTBANDS & NO TOE CLEATS, Shirts must be tucked in.
• Start games on time in order to start next game on time- if game does not start on time deduct time from the duration of the game.
• NO PENALTY KICKS IN DIV I - INDIRECT KICKS ONLY

Ø      Pay

• Remember to clock-in and out each night at the main building (complete paperwork- SIGN FORM).

Ø      Rules

• FIFA and ARPA rules will be followed.
• Know the rules, remember the coaches have the rules too.
• Don’t allow players or coaches to change your decision on a rule or penal foul.

Ø      Complaints

• Remember you are the head official.
• You can discuss issues with the coach during a game but it is best if you talk to a coach after the match.
• IMMEDIATELY report any misconduct from a coach or parent to Barbara Tyler or me.
