Shane came to the Chiefs and the Intercity League at the start of the 2017 season after spending five summers as the starting catcher for the Palmer Club of the Boston Park League......Hit an overall .290 last summer, including .316 in the regular season, while starting 27 games behind the plate....Veteran appeared in 172 games for Palmer from 2012-2016......Hit an overall .271 with 46 RBI's during his tenure......Was part of two championship teams with Palmer in 2014 & 2015.......Hit a career best .314 in 2013 when he was named as a Boston Park League all-star......Is currently on the coaching staff of the Brockton High baseball team......Was a former goaltender for the Boxers during his high school playing days and won the Boston Bruins annual Sportsmanship Award in 2005.......Played baseball at Westfield State College.....

In 2013, he appeared in 34 games and led the Chiefs in hits (35) and stolen bases (10), while hitting .321…....Played four seasons at UMass-Amherst before graduating in 2013.......Was formerly a member of the North Shore Navigators of the Futures League in 2012.......Played in the Intercity League in 2010 & 2011 as an outfielder with the Testa Corp. Bombers......At UMass, he started all 44 games in the outfield as a junior and batted .287, accumulating a team high 50 hits along with 25 RBI, 20 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases. Tony also led the Minutemen with16 multi-hit games .....Played four seasons at Malden Catholic under Head Coach Steve Freker ... Mike came to the Chiefs in 2014 and won his first ICL championship after spending a decade playing in the Intercity League with the Medford/Melrose Americans……Hit an overall .222 last summer in 32 games with 11 RBI.....Appeared in 28 games in 2016 and stole a team leading 12 bases and added 12 RBI's and was named to the ICL all-star team.....Hit .256 in 2015 with 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases.......Well seasoned Intercity League veteran holds a career .254 average......Mike has appeared in 340 ICL games including the post season in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2015 & 2016 …Speedy outfielder with great range and dangerous speed has stolen 103 bases in his ICL career while only being caught stealing 10 times..... Matt Nuzzo Roster

One of the best all around athletes to ever come out of Everett MA High, Matt was a 24th round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009 after enjoying a stellar career at Brown University......Hit .323 during the 2017 regular season adding an overall eight doubles and three home runs along with 23 RBI's....Can play all infield positions but spent the majority of his collegiate career as a shortstop.....While at Brown, he was selected as all-Ivy League for three consecutive seasons......Finished his four years at Brown with a .317 average in 168 games and added 20 home runs and 124 RBI's......Was the Bears team captain in 2009.....Spent three seasons in the Blue Jays organization as a second and third baseman after signing in the spring of 2009......Appeared in 141 games as a professional and had six home runs and 34 extra basehits in 458 at bats with a career average of .258......Played for three seasons in the Cape Cod League, first for the Falmouth Commodores in 2006 & 2007 and then the Hyannis Mets in 2008......Matt quarterbacked the Everett Crimson Tide to three state Division I championships.....Winningest quarterback in Massachusetts high school football history....He was a three time all-scholastic and the Boston Globe and Boston Herald 2004 Massachusetts Division I Player of the Year....Is the son of former Chief Frank Nuzzo who played for the team in the late 1960's and early 1970's before being signed by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973....

Steve returned to the Chiefs and the Intercity League for the first time in 2016 since the 2003 season......Saw action in only seven games in 2017 due a nagging arm injury...Appeared in 26 games in his comeback season of 2016 and batted an overall .297, including a lofty .385 in 18 regular season games....Previously played with the Chiefs for three seasons from 2001-2003.....Became the youngest starter in team history when he won the starting shortstop position as a 17 year old in the summer of 2001......Was a career .311 hitter for the Chiefs while appearing in 102 games over his three year stint with the club.....Hit a career best .329 in 2003 with 36 hits, including 10 extra base hits......Went on to play college ball at the University of Maine where he became the starting shortstop as a freshman.......Excelled at Medford High where he was a three time Greater Boston League all-star.....Can play all infield and outfield positions and was also known as a fireballing right-hander in his high school days.....34 year old continues to bring a veteran presence to the 2018 squad....

The Chiefs’ veteran third baseman/designated hitter will begin his 13th ICL season in 2018.....Mike is quickly ascending the team's all-time career leader list in many offensive categories.......Begins the upcoming campaign fourth all-time in hits with 344, trailing leader Justin Crisafulli and ICL Hall of Famers Mike Langston and Mike Barnes on the prestigious list. He is also third in career RBI's with 205…...Had an outstanding 2017 campaign hitting .323 in the regular season with an overall 16 RBI in 30 games....Appeared in 29 games in 2016 and had eight RBI's...Eight time ICL all-star batted .310 during the 2015 regular season..... .Hit .346 and won his second ICL crown as a player in 2014, good for sixth best in the ICL and was fourth league-wide in RBI's with 20.....Was the starting DH in the 2014 and 2017 ICL all-star games.....Hit an overall .314 (33-105) in 2013, which included a .385 clip in the postseason….. Speedy outfielder with range and a strong arm begins his fifth season on the Chiefs' roster......Missed the majority of 2017 due to a wrist injury......Played in 15 games in 2016 and batted .346 with 15 RBI's and was named to the 2016 ICL all-star team.....Appeared in 20 games in 2015 and hit an overall .333 (6 for 18) in limited plate appearances.......Was also with the team during spring training of 2014.........Spent his high school days at Malden Catholic.......Attended Seminole State Junior College in Sanford, Florida in 2015.......Took his gear and headed to Division II St. Leo University in Western Florida and played for the Lions and former Lexington Blue Sox closer and head coach Sean O'Connor. Appeared in 22 games for the 28-21 in 2016 and batted .293........Transferred to Sante Fe in 2017......Currently resides in Medford, MA........Danny's Uncle Don DiMare was the longtime shortstop for the ICL's old Medford Mustangs in the 1970's.......Hails from a family of athletes, including his dad John, who was a multi-sport athlete at Medford High.......Older brother Rich will join him on the Chiefs' roster this summer....Recorded his first ICL hit and first ICL RBI on June 13, 2015, in a 6-0 win over the Arlington Trojans......

Appeared in 33 games in 2016 with two homers and 22 RBI's .....Had a great year in 2015, hitting a lofty overall .398 with three homers and 16 RBI...Batted an overall .277 in 2014 with a homer and 12 RBI's in 26 games while battling through a few injuries.....Led the Chiefs in hitting during 2013 with an overall .326 average while starting 35 games and knocking in a team high 20 runs…Made his return to the Chiefs in time for the 2012 championship after spending the majority of 2011 in the California Angels organization.....Was signed by the Angels on July 1, 2011, after hitting a lofty .476 for the Chiefs during the first half of the ICL season.....Completed a great career at UMass-Amherst in 2011 and was named to the NEIBA D-1 all-star squad..... Over four years with the Minutemen, Copa played in 140 games and hit .319 (149-for-467) with 119 runs scored, 106 RBI, 29 doubles, six triples, and 24 home runs. His home run total ranks tied for sixth on the UMass career all-time list....Holds a career .331 Chiefs average, including playoffs, in nine seasons....Hit .366 in 2010 with 17 RBI....Was the Chiefs' batting leader in 2009 with an overall average of .329... Can play many positions but is primarily a first baseman... David Kerns

Rookie right-hander will make his Chiefs' and Intercity League debut in 2018.....Pitched this past spring for Bridgewater State.....Appeared in five games for the Bears while starting four games on the mound....Struck out 10 batters in 14.1 innings....Made his first college start when he went 4.1 innings vs Hilbert in Vero Beach, FL on March 4.....Had his longest outing of the NCAA season on April 21 going five innings and striking out four against Framingham State....Prior to attending Bridgewater State he pitched for Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School where he was named a Dual County Legaue all-star....Was coached by Nick Leva as a freshman at Cambridge R&L....Played AAU baseabll as a youngster and was coached by present Chiefs Mike DiCato and Jared Freni.....Is a cousin of Chiefs' veteran Juan Portes.....


Leivi Ventura
Hometown: Santiago, DR College/Pro: New York Mets
Leivi begins his Chiefs' and Intercity League career in 2018 after spending ten seasons in professional baseball.....Started his pro career in the New York Mets organization in 2005.....Spent four seasons with the Mets in Brooklyn, Hagerstown, Savannah and St. Lucie before moving on to Double A Wichita in 2008....Went on to play two seasons for Coastal Bend, four years for Rio Grande Valley, and a season for Lincoln of the American Association.......Appeared in 646 games as pro with 658 hits, 130 doubles, 13 triples, and 83 home runs.....Also drove in 370 runs and stole 34 bases over his career....Hit 24 homers in 2010 and added 20 more in 2011..... Led Hagerstown of the South Atlantic League when he rapped out a team best 11 homers in 132 AB's in 2006....A native of Santiago, Dominican Republic he currently resides in Medford, MA.....

Kyle comes to the Chiefs for the 2018 season......Catcher and corner infileder played this past spring for the Framingham State Rams.....Hit .243 for Framingham in 27 games with two homers and 11 RBI's.....Had multiple hit games in wins against Ficthburg State on April 28 and MCLA on May 3......Appeared in 21 games for the Rams in 2017 as a sophomore and hit .265....Hit .346 as a freshman in 2015.....Played the 2017 Intercity League season for the Arlington Trojans......Was a two sport athlete playing baseball and football at Natick High where he graduated from in  2015.....Is a Sports Management major at FSU.....

Juan Portes Roster

Hometown: Malden, MA Professional: Minnesota Twins
Juan begins his seventh season with the Chiefs in 2018....Played in only one game in 2017 due to a back injury....Came to the club in 2012 after spending seven straight seasons in the Minnesota Twins organization......Had five homers in 2016.....Batted an overall .333 in 2015 with three homers and 22 RBI's....Began the 2015 season on the disabled list before being activated in late June....In 2014, Juan finished fifth in the ICL batting race while hitting .368 and had four homers and 21 RBI and won his second ICL Championship.....Hit .327 in 2013 as the Chiefs shortstop…..Won the ICL's Triple Crown in 2012 with five homers and 27 RBI and hitting an ICL league best .416, leading the Chiefs to the ICL championship......Juan was selected by the Twins in 15th Round of the 2004 MLB Draft.....Played a season of high school baseball at Malden High before being drafted......In his seven seasons with the Twins, he appeared in 666 games, had 634 hits, including 113 doubles, 17 triples and 61 homers......He appeared in 24 Major League games for Minnesota during spring training of 2010 hitting .333 with three homers and nine RBI...... Had six RBI for the Twins against the New York Yankees on March 7, 2010, including a grand slam.....Was a career .264 hitter as a professional with 314 RBI during his time with Minnesota, which included stints in Fort Myers, Elizabethton,TN, Beloit, WI & New Britain, CT..... With the ability to play any position for Minnesota, Juan started 274 games in the outfield, 194 at third base, 121 at second base, and 14 at shortstop.........During his rookie season with the Twins in 2004, he led the Gulf Coast League with eight homers and hit .327.......Had nine home runs for Double A New Britain of the Eastern League in 2010 while starting 127 games.........

Hard throwing left-hander began his Chiefs' and Intercity League career in 2017.....Appeared in seven games last saeson with 18 K's in 22.1 innings.....Posted a regular season ERA of 2.41....Pitched professionally in the Can-Am League early last seasn with Trios-Rivieres and spent the 2016 campaign with the Watertown Bucks of the Empire Professional Baseball League in New York.....Pitched a couple of seasons at Suffolk University before heading to Eckerd College in 2014....As a sophomore at Everett High School, went 14-6 and assisted his team in winning the GBL championship…As a junior, compiled a 13-7 record and helped the Crimson Tide to its second consecutive league title...Named a Greater Boston League All-Star as a junior…..Assisted his team to a record setting 18 wins as a senior.....Played in the Futures League for the Wachusett Dirt Dogs in 2013.......Son of Al and Mary Saia of Everett, MA

Boston College right-hander joins the Chiefs' staff for the 2018 season....Was a four-year starter at Malden Catholic where he was named as a two-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Star selection … Was an Under Armour Preseason All-America Third Team and Northeast Division First Team before start of senior year … Led the Catholic Conference in stolen bases and batting average (.426) in 2015 … Also a four-year starter on the basketball team and a two-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald CCL All-Star selection … Austin was the recipient of the Malden Catholic Sportsman of the Year and a four-time Humanitarian and Compassion Award winner … Was a member of the Peabody Western team that played in the 2009 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., pitching in two of the three games and launching a home run.… One of David and Paula Batchelor’s four sons … has three older brothers, David, Jr., Beau and Bobby … Beau played baseball at Merrimack College and appeared in a game for the Chiefs in 2010....

Had an outstanding 2017 season going an overall 4-0 with a ERA of 1.83 in nine games....Posted an overall 4-2 record in 2016.....Appeared in 10 games in 2015 and posted a 5-1 record.....Shared the ICL's Outstanding Pitcher of the Year award in 2014 with teammate Jared Freni when he compiled an overall record of 9-2 in 14 games and fashioned an ERA of 1.55 in 76.0 innings....Has been one of the most consistent pitchers in the ICL for the last decade....Begins his ninth campaign for the Chiefs in 2018…Has won 43 games for the club over his first eight years including eight post season victories….Posted a 6-4 record in 2013 with a 2.06 ERA in 78.0 innings…...Compiled an overall 8-1 mark in 2012 on the way to the ICL Championship.…..Was a mainstay on the Chiefs' pitching staff in 2011 with a 7-3 record and led the club in appearances with 16, was second on the staff with 75.0 innings pitched, and posted an ERA of 2.89......Joined the Chiefs following the 2009 season.......Begins this season 4th among the Chiefs' all time leaders in wins (43), 4th with 447 innings pitched, 5th in appearances (93), and 6th in strikeouts with 231......Was part of the former Cassell Club rotation in 2006 when he went 7-1 overall for the ICL champions, throwing 65.2 innings and striking out 56.....Pitched professionally in 2007 for the Namur Angels in Belgium where he posted a 7-7 record and had an ERA of 1.68 in 118 innings......Returned to the ICL in 2008 and compiled a 5-1 record, which included a complete game shutout of the Chiefs on June 26....As a senior at Brandeis University in 2006, Tim went 10-3 for Judges, capping an outstanding collegiate career....Is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Somerville High School....Was presented the Greg Montalbano Award at the 2016 Old Time Baseball Classic.....Resides in Cambridge, MA......

Josh Desai

Hometown: Shrewsbury, MA College: Suffolk University
Was named the 2017 ICL Pitcher of the Year in 2017 after going a perfect 7-0 with a regular season ERA of just 0.88......Struck out 68 batters in 47.2 overall innings last summer..... Left-handed pitcher formerly pitched for ADSL of the Boston Park League where he had a career 12-7 record in three seasons....Power pitcher struck out 180 batters in just 128.1 innings during his BPL career......Was named as the winner of the Art Nowell Trophy in 2015 as the Park League's outstanding pitcher.....Started 34 games while at Suffolk University and posted a 3.54 ERA in 208.2 innings while playing for former Chief and then Suffolk Head Coach Cary McConnell who has since assumed the role of the Rams' Athletic Director.....Josh pitched the Worcester Bravehearts to the 2014 Futures Collegiate Baseball League Title as the winning pitcher in a series clinching win over the Martha's Vineyard Sharks.....Also played for the North Shore Navigators.....Was an MVP at Shrewsbury High School in 2011 and had a 13 strikeout no-hitter against North Middlesex Regional.......An Everett, MA native, Josh moved to Shrewsbury prior to his high school days.....

Evan returns to wear the Chiefs' colors after spending 2016-2017 with the Arlington Trojans.....First came onboard with the team as rookie in 2013.....The lefty played three seasons from 2013-2015 and was part of the 2014 championship sqaud.....Appeared in 17 games for the Chiefs over that span and had a career ERA of 2.59.....Started 14 games for Arlington over the last two summers.....Just graduted from Bentey University where he went 4-3 with a 2.85 ERA, striking out 54 batters in 47.1 innings, for the Falcons in 10 games.....Recorded wins this spring over St. Michael's, American International, Pace, and had a 12 strikeout, one-hit, complete game gem over Nyack in Winter Park, FL on March 5.....Won 11 career games at Bentley while making 47 appearances for former Chief Hall of Famer Bob DeFelice......Before Bentley, Evan starred at Arlington Catholic where he was named a two-time Catholic Central League all-star, finishing up his high school career with 16 wins.....Evan's father Ed played baeball at Eckerd College....

Mike returned to the Chiefs last summer after missing the 2016 season and appeared in 21 games with a homer and seven RBI's......Hit an overall .306 in 2015 with two homers and 20 RBI's....Also made six mound appearances and struck out 24 batters in just 21 innings...Had a major role in the Chiefs' 2014 ICL championship hitting .275 with four homers and 15 RBI in 29 games.....Also had a 0.00 ERA for the Chiefs in three appearances on the mound......Spent three summers (2011-2013) in the professional Can-Am League playing for the Worcester Tornadoes and the Rockland Boulders before finishing up the 2013 campaign with the Newark Bears……Lefty can pitch, play the outfield and first base.…..As a professional pitcher, Mike appeared in 58 games while being used primarily out of the bullpen…..Threw 137.2 innings and made a dozen starts while posting a 5-8 record……Also appeared in 149 games as positional player and has nine career homers as a pro…..Played for the Chiefs in 2010 and hit .344 in 19 games while adding eight RBI’s….Completed his college career at UMass-Amherst in 2010 after spending his freshman year at Le Moyne…..Was a career .312 hitter in three seasons at UMass and had 13 homers and 59 RBI…..Also had 25 mound appearances for the Minutemen and posted a 5-2 record…..Head Coach at Framingham State and led the Rams to a 26-17 season in 2014, a 27-19 record along with an ECAC finals appearance in 2015, and a 21-19 mark in 2018…..Is the son of former Boston Red Sox catcher Rich Gedman……Resides in Framingham, MA…….

Made a welcomed return to the Chiefs' lineup in 2017 after missing the entire 2016 season due to injury....Hit a team best and overall .386 last season with seven homers and 21 RBI's...Johnny hit .393 in 2015 with four homers and 18 RBI's...Was named the ICL MVP and Outstanding Hitter in 2014 when he led the Chiefs offensively to the 2014 ICL championship with an overall .430 average (46-107), that included leading the circuit in both home runs with nine and RBI's with 46 in just 34 games..... Spent seven seasons (2007-2013) playing professional baseball in both the Can-Am and Frontier League…Started his pro career with the North Shore Spirit of the Can-Am League in 2007…..Was with the Spirit prior to moving on to the Brockton Rox in 2008 before spending the next three seasons playing for Florence, KY of the Frontier League…...Returned to the Can-Am League in 2011 and had stints with Pittsfield, the Worcester Tornadoes, and the Rockland Boulders….Hit 75 homers as a pro and knocked in 262 runs in 461 games…...Had double digit home run seasons five times during his pro career....... Right-handed hitter previously played for now Malden High School Head Coach Steve Freker and the Malden Bambinos for several summers.......Andrew was part of the Malden Giants of the North Shore League in 2016 where he hit .318 with one home run and 18 RBI's......Has the ability to play almost any position and will be used primarily in a utility role this summer......Earned a trip to the Junior College World Series this past spring with Northern Essex CC....Hit .340 for the Knights with two homers and 15 RBI's while appearing in 17 games.....
