Begins his 28th season at the helm of the Chiefs in 2018......Veteran manager has piloted the Chiefs to six Intercity League championships, twenty-four playoff appearances, and ten regular season pennants, including four out of the last five years (2013, 2014, 2016 & 2017) .......Formerly pitched for the club in the 1970's & 1980's for then player-manager and ICL Hall of Famer Joe O'Donnell when the team was known as the Hosmer Chiefs.......Has appeared in the Intercity League playoffs 33 times as a player and manager has been part of ten championships.....Has recorded a 645-348-69 record as the team's skipper entering the 2018 season.... Made his managerial debut in 1989..... Won his 500th career game in July of 2012 and his 600th game on June 9, 2016..... Begins this year with 1,062 games under his belt as the Chiefs' manager ........Many of his former players have gone on to sign professional baseball contracts.......Was co-captain of 1974 Medford High School Greater Boston League Championship team...... ...Inducted into Medford High School Mustang Hall of Fame with a 12-0 pitching record and went on to graduate from Boston College...... Serves as a member of the Intercity League's Board of Directors.....Off the field, he is the Founder of ReMax Andrew Realty Services with offices in Medford, MA and Stoneham, MA.....



52- NICK LEVA (Coach)

Will begin his second season in the player/assistant coach role....Veteran assistant catcher will return for his eleventh season in the Chiefs colors......Hit .294 in 2017 in 17 plate appearances....Missed all of 2016 as a player.....Started 30 games behind the plate in the 2015 campaign......Appeared in 11 games in 2014 and hit .222.....Started 27 games behind the plate in 2013 and hit a healthy .284 …..Was the starting catcher in Chiefs' championship season of 2012, hitting an overall .303 while delivering several late inning clutch hits…..Team player calls one of the best games in the ICL.....Spent his sophomore season of 2011 at Division 2 power Southern New Hampshire of the Northeast-10.....Hit an overall .216 for the Chiefs in 2011 while catching in 29 games…...Was the catcher on the highly successful Eastern Massachusetts Senior Babe Ruth all-star squad that appeared in the World Series after claiming the New England Championship in 2010.....Former Greater Boston League all-star, Nick excelled in both baseball and hockey during his high school career at Cambridge Rindge & Latin.....Is the younger brother of former Chiefs' shortstop and former Bridgeport University captain Nate Leva....Grew up wearing the Chiefs uniform....Nick ascending from a bullpen catcher to a starter in 2012....


9- STEVE GAMBALE (Coach)

Will serve as a player-coach for the 2018 season....Steve returned to the Chiefs and the Intercity League for the first time in 2016 since the 2003 season......Saw action in only seven games in 2017 due a nagging arm injury...Appeared in 26 games in his comeback season of 2016 and batted an overall .297, including a lofty .385 in 18 regular season games....Previously played with the Chiefs for three seasons from 2001-2003.....Became the youngest starter in team history when he won the starting shortstop position as a 17 year old in the summer of 2001......Was a career .311 hitter for the Chiefs while appearing in 102 games over his three year stint with the club.....Hit a career best .329 in 2003 with 36 hits, including 10 extra base hits......Went on to play college ball at the University of Maine where he became the starting shortstop as a freshman.......Excelled at Medford High where he was a three time Greater Boston League all-star.....Can play all infield and outfield positions and was also known as a fireballing right-hander in his high school days.....34 year old continues to bring a veteran presence to the 2018 squad....Currently is an Assistant Coach at Medford High School......
