The Alton Flames Fastpitch organization was founded in the fall of 1996. Although it may vary from year to year, the Flames consist of as many select girls’ softball teams as possible in four age brackets that range from 12-and-under to 18-and-under. The success of the Alton Flames has been well publicized in the Illinois and St. Louis areas. The Flames success has been due to the high commitment of the coaches and directors in the organization. Our experienced staff of individuals is required to be certified and continue to pursue knowledge to better prepare the members of our teams. Many of our coaches are or have been associated with local grade and high school programs. The Flames are a public charity (501c3) and State of Illinois not-for-profit organization. We depend upon fees from our players and support from sponsors. It requires a great deal of resources to maintain this level of instruction, league, and tournament play as it requires equipment, rented winter indoor facilities, insurance, uniforms, tournament dues, and administrative costs.
We believe that this program is a great way for local businesses and individuals to show their support for an activity that promotes child development. Our girl's accomplishments, both physically and emotionally, will certainly one day repay dividends to our community. We call upon your support to help us try to develop the next top female athlete. 100% of sponsorship goes directly to the organization to be used by the teams. There are no salaries or administrative overhead; the girls get the direct benefit.
