MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

What is it?

The Alpine Girls Softball Association (A.G.S.A.) has established an annual scholarship program that will present award(s) in the spring. The money is generated from within the league by registration fees and by individual donations. This year’s awards will be in the range of $250 - $1000.

Who is eligible for the scholarships?

In order to be considered for the scholarship awards, each applicant must be a graduating high school girl who has participated in A.G.S.A. for a minimum of two (2) years. She must plan on attending a trade school, community college, or a four-year college or university upon graduation. Also, she must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

How do girls apply?

Each eligible girl must:

    1. Complete an application form.
    2. Attach a copy of her high school transcript.
    3. List community service activities with attached verification.
    4. write a 500-word essay, preferably typed, addressing the topic:
      "What I Gained from Participating in Alpine Girls Softball."

Who are the judges?

The judges will consist of three appointed members of the Alpine community, and they will not be affiliated with the A.G.S.A. These judges will evaluate each application and essay.

When will the scholarships be awarded?

The league president or a representative of the A.G.S.A. will present the scholarship award to the recipients at the high school's Senior Awards Ceremony.

When is the deadline for applications?
