2009 WINTERBALL SEASON
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT WINTERBALLTEAMS
- What is the Winter Ball Season? – the fall season is designed for girls aged 6-18 that want to play softball while continuing to develop their skills in a more competitive environment than typically is provided during the regular Spring season.
- When does the Winter Ball Season start? – typically the fall season runs from the first weekend after Labor Day until the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Teams are formed in early August and team practices may begin no sooner than the first weekend in August.
- What days are games scheduled? – To Be determined, but usually Sundays.
- How are teams formed? – Typically each team will have 11 or 12 girls on the roster. Girls who were not registered in AGSA during the 2009 Spring Season will be required to submit a registration form (see website) and a $10.00 registration fee.
- How are managers approved? – managers need to attend an organizational meeting tba and be approved by the AGSA Board of Directors. Managers and other approved adult staff of 2008 Spring Season teams (in good standing) are pre-approved to manage a fall season team upon attendance at the organizational meeting.
- Why do managers need to be approved? – only approved managers will be allowed use of AGSA equipment and facilities (snack bars). Approved managers will also have priority in scheduling field locations for practices, games and use of Otto Field lights.
- How much does it cost? – each team sets and manages its own budget and expenses. Typically, the cost of uniforms, umpire fees, registration fees, game and practice balls and other related expenses is approximately $175.00 per player. Some, if not all, of these expenses may be paid for with team snack bar profits and sponsorships.

- When is Registration? Registration began at closing ceremonies. If you are interested please email Don Wall at the address above with your name, your daughter's name and contact information and your name will be added to our list of interested players. We expect the official registration for Winterball to begin around August 1st and end around August 10th.
