Raider Coach Goggin

Coach Goggin begins his second year as Head Coach at Alpharetta.  Coach Goggin has been teaching for 12 years and coaching basketball for 11 of those years.  Coach Goggin started as the Freshman Coach when Centennial High School opened in 1997.  In his seven years with Centennial he worked his way up to the Varsity Assistant where he helped Centennial qualify for the state playoffs for the first time and again in the next year.  Coach Goggin moved to Forsyth County where he coached at Liberty Middle School and Riverwatch Middle School, directing a team from each school to the league championship game.  Coach Goggin began teaching right out of college, the University of Central Florida, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education.  Coach Goggin received his Certification in Special Education in 2006, which helped him get a job with Alpharetta. Coach Goggin is from Port Charlotte, Fl and is engaged to Beth Redden. 



Lady Raiders Coach Anderson

Coach Angela Anderson comes to us from Woodland High School in Cartersville. Georgia, where she has taught and coached since graduating in 1998. Angela coached basketball as an Varsity Assistant at Woodland for six years along with being the assistant girls' fast pitch coach, and head girls' golf coach.  Angela also has coached the 15U Georgia Hotshots for the last four years. Her team has qualified for the national tournament all of the those years being one of the top teams in the state.

Coach Anderson graduated from Georgia State University in 1998, where she played basketball on full scholarship. While at Georgia State she was awarded the Anna Dunn Hustle Award for overall character and athletic performance for Georgia State athletes. In August of 2003, Angela graduated from Jacksonville State Univesity with her Masters in Education Administration.

Prior to coming to Georgia, Angela grew up in Sweetwater, Tennesee.

JV Boys Coach Jimmy Pagel

Alpharetta Basketball welcomes back coach Jimmy Pagel to the program again this year. Last year Coach Pagel coached the Freshmen Boys team and this year he will be coaching the boys at the JV level. Coach Pagel began his teaching career 5 years ago at Centennial High School where he also coached the Freshmen Boys team.  He has been at Alpharetta since the opening of the school and has helped build the program from the beginning.  Coach Pagel teaches Special Education and also volunteers as student council sponsor, pep rally committee sponsor, and member of the Mentors Club.

 

Coach Pagel graduated high school from Roswell High and later attended the University of Georgia, where he received a degree in Sociology.  He is currently working on his Master’s in Educational Leadership.  Coach Pagel currently resides in Alpharetta with his beautiful new wife, Georgia, and their dog, Hank, and cat, Emily. 

  


Freshmen Boys Coach Jason Dukes

Jason Dukes takes over the Alpharetta Freshman Boys Squad.  For the last two years Coach Dukes has been a Varsity Assistant.  This is Coach Dukes’ third year at Alpharetta.  He also coaches Varsity football and boys and girls track and field.  Coach Dukes teaches Economics in the schools highly acclaimed Social Studies department.

 

Coach Dukes hails from Augusta, GA where he attended Richmond Academy.  There, he was a standout athlete in football, baseball, basketball and track and field earning a football scholarship to Georgia Tech.  Coach Dukes received his degree in Economics and is currently working on his Masters degree in Education from Mercer University.  Coach Dukes is supported by his wonderful wife Nangula and daughter Naomi.



Raider Coach Elliot Carter

Elliot Carter has been a part of the Alpharetta High School family from its beginning. This is his fourth year coaching on the high school level. He coaches football, basketball and track at AHS. He is originally from Jacksonville, FL where he attended William m. Raines High School. He was a two sport athlete who received a football scholarship from South Carolina State University where he was named Special Teams MVP in 1996 and 1998. He graduated in December of 1999 with a degree in Criminal Justice. After being a Probation Officer for several years he decided to make a difference from an educational standpoint and has loved it ever since.
