Almont Jr. Raiders: Welcome
The Almont Jr. Raiders was established as part of the Hometown Football League (HFL). The HFL was developed as a non-profit organization in 2002. It included several local communities such as Almont, Imlay City, North Branch & Dryden. Our goal was to give children from small towns an even playing field so they would not be forced to try to compete against larger communities. Our emphasis is not on winning at all costs, but instead on having fun and learning the game of football.
This year we are excited to be celebrating ten years of teaching children to love football! As the original youth football program in Almont, we are so proud of our alumni players and cheerleaders. Our first group of Jr. Raiders went on to win Almont High School’s first District Championship, and our 3rd group went on to the state semi-finals. The majority of the High School’s Varsity players are former Jr. Raiders. Some of our alumni have gone on to play football and cheer at the college level.
We are honored to have the opportunity to continue working with Almont’s youth - teaching them to love the game of football.
