Farrell gets scholarship

In the locker room, following Friday night's game, while the Allen lacrosse team listened, Wilkes University head lacrosse coach made the announcement that Midfielder, Vance Farrell would be receiving a $64,000 scholarship to attend Wilkes where he plans to play lacrosse.  A heartfelt and proud congratulations was expressed to Vance by the coaching staff and team.

Because most teams are judge by their wins and loses, the hard work the Allen team members exhibit, is not often seen outside the confines of their own locker room, practice field or games. The successes are measured in ways that may only be obvious in the future.  Successes like Vance Farrell's scholarship will become more frequent as this program matures.

Allen loses to S Lehigh 15-4 after scoring the 1st two goals

Allen lost to a very good Southern Lehigh team 15-4 Saturday.  After the game one S Lehigh player was quoted in the paper as saying "sometimes we play down to our competition" after going down two goals to start the game, demeaning the Allen high team. (Guys, take that personally).

Parkland beats Allen 14-5

Allen lost in its first game played away from JBC Stadium, 14-5, to the Trojans of Parkland.  Allen led 2-1, seven minutes into the game, but did not have enough depth to compete with the much more experienced Parkland team.

Despite being a four year starter and already having scored four goals, with the game out of reach, a senior attackman and captain, continued to rip his best shots from the crease against the Canaries defense, sending Allen coach, Mark Smith into a frenzy about sportsmanship and respect.

Luke Long and Dylan David each scored twice while Vance Farrell tallied one.  Nick Lalik had one assist.

Friday, April 3

Luke Long gathered in an Allen game record of 16 ground balls while scoring 4 goals in a hard fought loss to Nazareth.  Allen led 5-4 at halftime, then gave up 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd quarter.  The Canaries pulled with in one, at 9-8 with less than two minutes to go, but could not find the tying goal as Nazareth scored with a few seconds remaining to seal the win.
