Annual Letter

ARLINGTON LITTLE LEAGUE, INC. 2005 FALL NEWS LETTER

For over 42 years groups of parents and volunteers ran a baseball league in Arlington for the children. Please see the attached for information on our 2005 fall season.

Hello, I am Gene McCutcheon and I have been proud to be the 2004-2005 League Information Officer. I have had the pleasure to watch the children grow to be better ball players but mostly better children. On Wednesday, September 21, 2005 the league will be electing the 2005-2006 executive board consisting of President, Vice President, Player Agent, Treasurer, and Secretary. If you were a board member or league volunteer, you are welcome to come and cast a ballot. If you wish to appear on the ballot for one of these positions please attend a board meeting before Wednesday, September 15, 2005 and place your name for the consideration of the nominating committee.

Last Spring Little League asked us to host the 9-10 League District 11 and Sectional tournaments. The District said our tournaments were a great success. The League would like to thank all the volunteers that made it possible especially District 11 Assistant Director Jim Green.

The next thing I need to do is thank a lot of the A.L.L. team for their contributions during the past year’s fall and spring season. It’s these volunteers that get the concessions stocked, the fields ready and the equiptment ordered. They handle our player registration, coaching, instructional clinics, and tournaments.

Laura Ogin is the League’s Secretary, Carnival Co-chair,  Picture Director,  helps with concessions and so much more.

Jack Ogin  is the Minor League Director and the League Athletic Director.

Doug Buscher, Umpire and Chief. He is also the Coaching Coordinator.

Bill Doyle, Junior League Director.  His wife Nancy is also on deck to help out.

Ron Bush has become a great Player Agent. He is also the Equipment Director, Assistant Challenger Director and fixer of things.

Kevin Fleming, Major League Director, Umpire.

Vice President Anson DeWolf. He keeps the fields green and stepped up & filled in where we needed this year.

T-Ball director  Paul Perry, for his hard work.

“Red Parks” for all the A/C help and everything else he does for us.

Larry Weaver for all his hard work on the fields.

Christy McCutcheon, for getting the Coke ordered to meeting repairman to uniforming hundreds of baseball players.

And a special thank you to, Michelle Bush our Concessions director; Henry Douglas, Challenger Director, Mike Itani, Mike Rourke for everything; Garret James, Steve Rieder, Ken Fete, Bridget Sullivan, Jimmy Paushe, Shelia & Buddy Walker, Laura & Rob Kennington for outfield signs, David Brantley, and last but not least, Joe “when do you want me there” Jennings for his dedication.

A Special Thank You For Fred Smith Of Bradco Supply Inc, For The Field Tarps.

I would also like to thank the coaches and the parents (and grandparents), many of whom gave that extra help on the field and with concessions. If I left anyone out I apologize.

Please come out and become involved. We are all just parents and grandparents who want to make a difference with our lives. We have jobs, we have families and we volunteer.

Thank you for your support !

Gene McCutcheon
