FAMILY FUN DAY!!
The early bird got the best of the pot-luck dinner. All day long people brought dishes to share with the League Family!! Some of the lucky directors got to sample the dishes before they were put out. I don't believe anyone went away hungry, and do growing children....and coaches eat!!!! They love homemade food.
For the second year in a row, The Arlington Little League Book Traders struck. Well over 400 books were collected for distribution on family fun day. The League Family noticed our children had many books they have already read and then would trade to each other. So we decided to do it league wide. We collect books all year at the concession stand and let the children pick out some favorites on Family Fun Day! Because Baseball is more interesting if you can read the box scores. There has also been rumored that there was a group of adults trading mystery novels on Family Fun Day in the concession stand.
And finally, after everyone recouped from eating too much, the games begun. The children sometimes made up their own rules, but it was their day.
When you have a picnic, family and baseball it's always a great day!!
