Congratulations are in order for Bianca Devoto, who has made a verbal commitment to UC San Diego, in La Jolla California.Bianca, made the journey from Northern California to Southern California and the beautiful community of La Jolla, which is located in the northern city limits of San Diego. The hilly seaside resort community, occupies 7 miles of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean in Southern California.
Here is what Bianca had to say about her choice to commit to UCSD.
I chose UC San Diego because it is a perfect fit for me athletically as well as academically. I wanted to find a university that held high standards both in the classroom and on the softball field. San Diego's national ranking and 2011 Division II Championship fulfilled these requirements. The team also boasts the successful graduation of their players in four years. When I combined all of these attributes, my decision was simple. After going to their winter camp, I fell in love with the campus and with the program. I was able to get a better understanding of the recruitment process and realized how family-oriented the team is. I have developed a great relationship with the coaches and really feel at home with the program. I'm really excited for my future at UCSD and to become a part of the Triton family!
UC San Diego, competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), and last year were the NCAA Division 2 National Champions, The teams that compete in the CCAA, are Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State East Bay, Cal State L.A., Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Stanislaus, Chico State, Humboldt State, San Francisco State, Sonoma State and UC San Diego.
Congratulations are in order for Brianna Warner, who has made a verbal commitment to the University of California, Davis in Davis, California.
Last summer, Brianna made the trip to UC Davis, just outside Sacramento to attend their softball camp. In 2006, Davis was ranked as the second most educated city (in terms of the percentage of residents with graduate degrees) in the US by CNN Money Magazine, after Arlington, Virginia.
Here is what Brianna had to say about her choice to commit to UC Davis.
I chose UC Davis, after attending a softball camp last summer. After attending that camp, I saw what a flawless school UC Davis is. Whether it’s the beauty of the campus or the exceptional academic and athletic programs, I felt the school was a perfect fit for me. What attracted me to UC Davis was its small town atmosphere. Having grown up in a small town, I wanted to continue that experience while in college. I felt Davis had that to offer me. After personally meeting coach Yoder, I knew she was the coach I wanted to spend my college life around. After meeting a former player, and befriending current players, I realized that our personalities matched in a way that made me realize that the athletic program was a perfect fit. Also, after researching their academic options, I knew that is where I wanted to study for my future career in the Forensic Science field. I can’t wait to officially join the Aggie family! Go Ags!
I really want to thank all of my coaches who have given me the stepping stones in which to achieve this rare goal in the softball world.
UC Davis competes in the Big West Conference along with Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Pacific, these schools compete at the NCAA Division 1 level.
Congratulations once again to Brianna Warner, the newest UC Davis “Aggie”, from your All American family. Go Aggies!!
