Balanced Attack leads Patriots over Demons
The balanced hitting of Andrea, Dana, Brittany & Courtney were too much for the Bismarck Demons. Andrea led with 13 kills, while Dana, Brittany & Courtney each added 9 kills each. The Patriots come at teams with so many weapons that blockers are unable to shut down the attacks. Only the errors by the Patriots slow them down. With the return of Andrea to the steady play of Team Captains, Dana Asplund & Courtney Fettig, along with Floor Captain, Brittany Jossart, the Patriots look forward to the next matchup with Dickinson on Thursday, October 26.

CHS make short work of Mandan Braves
Thursday, September 28, marked the return of all-state hitter Andrea LaFrance to the Century Patriots. Adding Andrea to the already potent offense of Dana Asplund, Brittany Jossart, Courtney Fettig & Kate Beaudoin, made the Patriots a notch better and the Patriots were able to quickly dispatch Mandan.
The balanced scoring of Jossart 10, LaFrance 9, Fettig 8, Asplund 7, Beaudoin 6 was too much for Mandan to overcome, which relies heavily on Keilpinski as their offense. Hjelmers for Mandan was completely shutdown after a stellar effort against Jamestown.
The steady play of CHS Kill leader and Captain, Dana Asplund, has kept the Patriots in the competitive WDA race. The only undefeated team is Williston. The addition of Andrea will only help the cause as the Patriots head into the second half of the season.

CHS Scrambles to Salvage Win in 5 from Bluejays
Led by the balanced attack of the trio of Courtney Fettig, Brittany Jossart & Dana Asplund, Century pulled another victory from the jaws of defeat. After an easy opening game 25-16 over the Blue Jays, Century found a balanced defensive team such as the Blue Jays kept putting the ball in play. Many unforced errors - missed serves, deflected blocks, miscommunication - let the Blue Jays post a 2-1 game lead with a seemingly unstoppable lead 20-16 going into the 4th game. However, continuous serves and great net play by Century brought CHS to a 25-23 win. The 5th and deciding game, the Blue Jays again held a seeminly insurmountable 7-2 lead, but CHS again came back to win 15-13 in a thriller. Great way to start homecoming week!

CHS Makes BHS Pay for Mistakes
Led by Senior Captain Dana Asplund's 12 kills, 5 blocks & 2 aces, CHS made life difficult for BHS. Senior's Kate Beaudoin & Brittany Jossart rounded out the balanced attack and along with critical aces from Sophomore setter the CHS Patriots were able to make up for the loss of Senior All-State Hitter Andrea LaFrance and the injury to Senior Middle Hitter Courtney Fettig.
Incredible digs & saves by Brittany Jossart, Alexis Chuppe & Miranda Glatt made BHS work overtime to try and get any kills. The contributions from the whole team made for a positive outcome and looking forward to the matchup against Williston.
