Board Meeting: June 11, 2008
Attending: Tyler Lecceadone, President; Phil Knapp, Vice President/Baseball; Terry Spetoskey, Vice President/Softball; Keith Tidey, Player Agent; Beth Oldenburg, Secretary; Robin Dufort, Concessions
The meeting was opened by Tyler at 8:35pm.
FUNDRAISER REPORT (given by Beth):
Approximately $1,300 raised from the silent auction, pop can drive and hat/decal sales. 2 teams won the pop can drive pizza party: Tee Ball team sponsored by Meijer and Major Baseball team sponsored by Varsity Barber.
TREASURER REPORT (given by Robin):
Checking $7,260.50 - Savings $6,024.70 FOD $9,964.33
SECRETARY REPORT:
Nothing to add.
PRESIDENT REPORT:
Umps for Junior Baseball tournaments and All Stars are paid by District 9 as part of the fee we pay to compete (not paid by us). Major Baseball umps for tournaments and All Stars are paid by us.
Major Baseball tournaments start June14, Junior Baseball tournaments start June 21. Major and Junior Softball are TBD.
All Stars are still in the works. Major Baseball All Stars start June 28. The other team is TBD.
Will need help to prep fields for tournaments and All Stars.
Would like the Softball VP and coaches to get additional training paid for by Algoma LL offered through the Little League organization to help improve the softball program.
CONCESSION REPORT:
Keeping the concession stocked with Gatorade and water, will start selling out the rest of concession during tournaments.
Profit so far this year is $3,104.
Passed inspection. Inspector suggested (to save appr. $100) applying for temporary 2 week permits every 2 weeks during the season. Otherwise with the annual permit the person in charge of concessions would be required to go through an 8 hour training session.
VICE PRESIDENT/BASEBALL REPORT:
Will be cleaning out the storage area with Keith and prepping it to store the equipment for next year.
VICE PRESIDENT/SOFTBALL REPORT:
Already has a parent interested in coaching minor softball next year.
PLAYER AGENT REPORT:
Nothing to add.
