Alexandria Aces Collegiate Summer Baseball Club:2010 Prospects

Alexandria Aces Collegiate Summer Baseball Club

Road to MLB Alexandria_1

2010 PROSPECTS

The Alexandria Aces Collegiate Summer Baseball Club plays baseball in Alexandria, Virginia at Frank Mann Field at Four Mile Run Park, directly across the Potomac River from our Nation's Capital, Washington, DC.

Washington is one of our nation's premiere tourist attractions, offering a wide spectrum of sites to visit, such as the White House, Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, Smithsonian Museums, as well as being home to the Nationals (www.nationals.com).  We're also a short driving distance from Baltimore, home of the Orioles (www.orioles.com).

Other minor league baseball clubs in the DC area are the Potomac Nationals (www.potomacnationals.com), the Nationals High-A farm club in nearby Woodbridge, Virginia; the Bowie Baysox (www.baysox.com), the Orioles' AA farm club; and the Frederick Keys (www.frederickkeys.com), the Orioles High-A farm club.

Alexandria is a historic city and major destination center for tourists as well.  The city was founded in 1749 and has an active Colonial district called 'Old Town,' with many structures dating back to the 1700s.   For more info on Alexandria, please visit www.alexandriava.gov.

The Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League (www.crscbl.org) plays highly competitive wooden bat summer ball and is quickly becoming a 'go to' league for players who want to enhance their chances of getting drafted by Major League Baseball.  Thirty-seven former Ripken, Sr. League players were selected in the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft, which was a new league record.  On July 15, the Ripken League beat the Valley League, 2-1, in the first-ever 'Mid-Atlantic Classic' All-Star Game, played before a crowd of over 3,000 at Regency Furniture Stadium, in Waldorf, Maryland, and was shown live on MASN-HD (www.masnsports.com)

Prospective players who are interested in playing for the Aces in 2010 are asked to have a coach of their school email us at '2010prospect@alexandriaaces.org.'

Thanks for your interest in the Alexandria Aces!
