ATTENTION - Please note the changes to Rule 1.10.   As I discussed at the annual meeting wording for the DYB rule book which states:

Only 2 ¼” barrel non-wood bats which are manufactured to achieve a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of 1.15 or less through the life of the bat are approved for play in “Dixie Youth Baseball”.

Please read Rule 1.10 carefully and note the following:

1)    All 2 1/4” composite bats must be stamped with BPF 1.15 and stamped approved for play in Dixie Youth Baseball.

2)    Only newly manufactured 2 ¼” aluminum/metal alloy bats require the BPF 1.15 stamp in 2012.

3)    2 5/8” bats do not have to be stamped.   A new BBCOR standard is being developed which we may not have in place before our rule book is printed.    The BBCOR is a different standard than BPF and will only apply to the 2 5/8” bats when it is adopted.    The goal is to have a BBCOR in place for 2 ¼” bats in the future but that will be several years away.

4)     If a bat does not have a BPF 1.15 stamp on the bat in 2012, it will have to be on the existing list of approved 2 ¼” bats.   I have posted a listing of approved bats which may not have the BPF stamp on the bat but can  be used in 2012 if they are marked approved for play in Dixie Youth Baseball. I will place this information on our Dixie Youth website and send to all leagues as soon as possible
