ABOUT US
The Alaska Northern Stars is a competitive, travel, fastpitch softball team based in the Mat-Su Valley in Alaska. The team was created in 1998 to provide local girls with the opportunity to compete in softball at a higher level. Over the years, the team has competed at the 14U and 16U level in ASA softball, both locally and in the lower 48. For the 2010 season, the Alaska Northern Stars will compete at the 14U level with the possiblity of adding additional age level teams.
CLINICS
The Alaska Northern Stars would like to invite all interested girls, ages 8-18, to attend any of our fall/winter softball clinics! These clinics will start on September 15 and be held every Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6:30-8:30. The Tuesday clinics are held in the small gym at Colony Middle School, and the Friday clinics are held in the big gym at Colony Middle School. All experience levels are welcome and the clinics are FREE!
OUR COACH
The Alaska Northern Stars is coached by Mike Stewart, Colony High School varsity softball coach. Mike has many years of experience coaching fastpitch softball, and has worked hard promoting the growth of this sport in the Valley.
