2016 All Star Selection Process

The 2016 All Star selection process has begun. The following are the managers for the 2016 All Star teams:

12 y/o International: Steve Spaulding
11 Blue: Nate Firestone
11 Red: Marc Fournier
10 Blue: Randy Marmor
10 Red: Dan Hilsabeck.

Please follow this link for information regarding the player selection process. Blue teams are selected before Red teams. Teams will be announced the evening of June 5 on this website.

2016 All Star Selection Process.

All Star play is a big commitment. Teams practice daily. Tournament play begins on June 21. These are double elimination tournaments and are played at the Alameda Little League fields and fields within District 4.

2014 All Stars Selection Process

Players in Majors and AAA are eligible for post season play. The 12 year old Majors comprise the International team and compete in a series of tournaments that can culminate in playing in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. The 11 and 10 year old teams can advance as far as state level.

2014 Season All-Star Selection Process

The below process describes how the All Star teams will be selected for the 2014 seasons. The Board of Directors made minor modificaitons to prior year rules.

12 Year Old International Tournament Team:

First 8 players voted on by the Majors peers + 2 selected by Major Managers. Team Manager to select at least 2 more players from the Major Manager votes. 12’s are purely age 12.

11-9 Year Olds - Note: 2 teams per age group, Blue and Red. Blue Team to be selected first; then Red team will be selected.

11 Blue:

Major managers vote on first 10; next 3 chosen by All Star Manager for that team. To be eligible, players on Blue must be from Majors division. No input from AAA managers unless requested. 11’s are purely age 11.

11 Red:

Major managers vote on first 10; next 3 chosen by All Star Manager for that team. To be eligible, players on Red must be from Majors. Input from AAA managers will be considered. 11’s are purely age 11.

10 Blue:

AAA managers vote on first 10 + next 3 chosen by selected manager. 10 Blue players are purely age 10.

9-10 Red: 

AAA managers vote on first 10 + next 3 chosen by selected manager. 9-10 Red players are 9 and 10 years old.

Post Season Play - Tournament of Champions
Players in Majors through AA are eligible for post season play in the Tournament of Champions (TOC). Each division champion team will advance to the TOC and play against other District 4 (our Little League District) division champions. The Tournament of Champions ends at District Level.

Alameda to Host 2014 Post Season Tournament Games

The 2014 Little League post season is rapidly approaching. Alameda has been chosen to host 18 International Tournament All Stars games and 7 Califoria Disctrict 4 Tournament of Champions Games.  

There are three levels of International All Stars that Alameda teams compete in.
11-12 Bracket - Alameda Little League 12 year olds. Can advance all the way to the Little League World Series
10-11 Bracket - Tournament ends at State level
09-10 Bracket - Tournament ends at State level 
The All Star teams are a combination of player and/or manager seletions. The 2014 process will be posted soon.

The Tournament Of Champions games are District level only. Each division champion team (AA-Majors) will play in the TOC.

Alameda to Host Summer Baseball Classic for 11-12 year olds

The 1st Annual District 4 Summer Baseball Classic Tournament for 11-12 year olds will be hosted at our fields beginning Saturday, July 12. This is a single elimination tournament that culminates with a championship game on July 19th. Alameda will play Lafayette on July 12 at 9:00am.

A similar tournament for 9-10 year olds will be hosted by the Albany Little League at 8th and Harrison in Albany. Alameda plays at noon. Come on down to the fields to support the teams!

Alameda 12 y/o All Stars District 4 Champions
Alameda Champs

Congratulations to the 2013 District 4 Champions!  The 12 Year Old All Stars team defeated North Oakland 3-2 tonight and this makes the team eligible for the Section 1 tournament. Alameda is scheduled to play at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 13.

The Section 1 tournament will be hosted by Dixon Little League in Dixon. All games will be played at Hall Memorial Park,  Dixon, CA 95620. (298 E. Chestnut St. at Harvard Drive).

The Little League International tournament follows this format: District (just completed), Section, State, Region and finally the Little League World Series. The Section 1 tournament field consists of the 5 District Champions of Section 1.

Alameda All Stars 12 y/o Game Report

Alameda All Stars 12's - 4 Antioch - 0

.
The 12’s won 4-0 with a walk-off grand slam home run by Sandeep Mahl, making it into the Championship game on Tuesday at Alameda. Alameda must be beaten twice so if they lose on Tuesday they play again on Wednesday. The opponent last night was a very good team from Antioch who shut Alameda down for 5 innings with good defense and pitching. Alameda had solid pitching from starter Max Turner and relief pitcher Sandeep Mahl!

Alameda All Stars 11 Red Game Report
The Alameda All Stars 11 Red were victorious over the 11 Blue team 9-3. solid pitching by Eli Ottaviano contributed solid pitching and Jake Emerson pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. All the bats contributed and the defense was stellar. June 18: The AAA Rick and Russ Show Rubberducks lost 1-0 to Walnut Creek in the AAA TOC Championship game. Congratulations to the 'Ducks for their great season and representing Alameda well in the District 4 TOC.

June 15: The AAA Rick and Russ Show Rubberducks advance to the AAA Championship game by defeating Clayton Valley 13-1. The championship game is Saturday, June 18 in Albany against the Walnut Creek team. Good Luck Ducks!

The AA Dr. Kinna Sports Psychology Chihuahuas lost to North Oakland, 9-3 and are eliminated from the AA TOC. Congratulations on winning your local division and representing Alameda in the TOC. 

June 14:The Majors division Parker Wang Orthodontics Blue Jays lost to the Antioch Kings 7-4. Alameda made a come from behind effort in the 6th but fell short. The Jays had a great season and the players should be proud of what they accomplished.

June 13: Alameda AAA and AA prevail in close contests. The AAA Division Rick and Russ Show Rubberducks held off a 6th inning  charge by the Continental Lugnuts to seal a 9-8 victory. Next up for the 'Ducks is the semi-final game in Albany against Clayton Valley. Meanwhile the AA Dr. Kinna Sports Psychology Chihuahuas overcame a 2 run deficit in the 6th inning beating the Clayton Valley Dodgers 17-11. The Chihuahuas next game is the semi-final against North Oakland in Walnut Creek. The Parker Wang Orthodontics Blue Jays will play the Antioch Major Division champion tonight in Alameda.

June 11: The Alameda teams made a strong showing on Saturday. Both Majors and AAA move to the next round. The Parker and Wang Orthodontics Blue Jays overcame a three run deficit to win 6-4 over South Oakland. The Blue Jays will play Antioch on Tuesday who won 6-2 over Martinez.The Rick and Russ Show Rubberducks dominated in their 12-2 victory over South Oakland. Alameda will play Continental Monday who won 15-4 in their first game over Pinole Hercules. AA was inactive and play their first game on Monday against Clayton Valley who was also idle.

2016 District 4 Post Season Schedule

The regular season is wrapping up and the post season begins as early as June 4 with the Intermediate Tournament of Champions (TOC). Intermediate is also known as 50/70. Alameda Little League is a member of District 4. Each Little League District has an annual tournament called the TOC. Invited are the division winners from each league (AA, AAA, Majors, Intermediate) in the district. After the TOCs complete, All Star play commences. 12 Year Old All Stars play to compete in the Little League World Series. Intermediate All Stars play to compete in the Intermediate World Series held in Livermore. All Star selection will be happening soon.

Alameda 12's Take District 4 Title!

Hot off the press, the 12 year old  International Tournament team was down 9-6 and scored 7 runs in the top of the 6th  to defeat Lafayette 13 to 9, taking the District 4 Title for the 14th time in 21 years.

The Alameda 12YO All-Stars Finished Their Summer With a Bang!

The Alameda 12 YO All Star team was able to bring home the Championship of the 4th annual Buckeye Classic hosted by Lafayette. The boys battled through 5 games often in temperatures over 100 degrees! The format of the tournament features the boys swinging wood bats which puts pitching and defense at a premium. Alameda was able to get key pitching performances from Zack King, Justin Leung, Jerick Griego, Eli Jones (struck out 9 in the Championship game), Jonathan Schnoebelen and Emmitt Phinney. Emmitt earned MVP honors by pitching in 4 of the 5 games and contributed all around including a championship clinching grand slam in extra innings. Key defensive plays by Jacob Price, Zachary Hayward, Sam Davis and Dayron Ricabal helped Alameda stay in tight games all week!

The Alameda 10-year-old All-Stars and the Alameda 12-year-old All-Stars defeated the Lafayette 10 and 12-year-old All-Stars in the championship games of the Buckeye tournament held in Lafayette.

12 YEAR OLD ALL STARS TO PLAY IN SECTION TOURNAMENT

July 18: The Alameda 12 Year Olds were eliminated from the Section tournament with their second loss on Sunday. The boys made an impressive post-season run. The league is proud of what you accomplished. Congratulations on your season.

July 11: The Alameda 12 Year Old International All Stars won the District 4 Championship on Monday, July 11. They were defeated on Saturday by Lafayette. But, since this was a double elimination tournament, Lafayette needed to beat them twice. This would not be the case as Alameda came from behind to win 13-9. Congratulations boys!

Next up for Alameda is the Section Tournament which runs Saturday, July 16 through Thursday, July 21. Section Tournament games are hosted by Rincon Valley LL, 1365 Baird Rd Santa Rosa, 95409. Saturday's game is at 11:00AM vs. Napa National, the winner of District 53.

NOR CAL DIVISION GAMES: Alameda was eliminated from the Division tournament after their second loss on 7/7 against Evergreen. Alameda played a great post season advancing all the way to the State Tournament. Congratulations on your season. You made the league proud. In just their 2nd season, the Intermediate Division advanced to Section last year and Division this year.

SECTION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP: Congratulations to the 50/70 Intermediate team on WINNING the SECTION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Alameda won the continuation game 9-7 in 10 innings. They followed up that victory with a 24-8 win over Vacaville National! Nor Cal Division play begins Saturday.

SECTION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE: Alameda's 50/70 game tonight was suspended after 8 innings tied 5-5. They will resume tomorrow night at 5:00 PM.

SECTION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES: The Alameda Intermediate 50/70 All Stars are headed to the Section 1 Championship where they will face Vacaville National. This is a double elimination tournament. Alameda will need to win two games like they did in Districts.

DISTRICT 4 CHAMPIONS: The Alameda Intermediate 50/70 All Stars defeated North/South Oakland (NOLL/SOLL) 18-2 to become District 4 Champions. The team progresses to the California Section 1 tournament which begins on 6/24 at Foothill Middle School, 2775 Cedro Lane, Walnut Creek at 6:00pm. They will play the winner of Distrct 53. Five California Districts have Intermediate teams in Section 1. This is the 2nd consecutive year that Alameda has made it to Sectionals.
