Alabama Elite 14U "Blue" Boys team finish 2nd in AAU State Tournament
The Alabama Elite 14U BoysÂ’ "Blue" placed 2nd in the 14U AAU State Qualifier. This 2nd place finish qualifies them to participate in the AAU Division I Nationals, which will be held in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. In the state tourney they beat the Birmingham Metro Express and the Birmingham Celtics. They lost to the Alabama Ice in overtime before losing to the Birmingham Storm in the finals.

Alabama Elite 12U Girls win the Midwest Youth Basketball Super Regional
The Alabama Elite 12U Girls won the Midwest Youth Basketball Super Regional this past weekend. In pool play they went 1-1 securing the second spot in Championship play. They ended up playing the 12U Alabama Ballers for the championship game defeating them 31-18. The Alabama Ballers had defeated them the previous day in pool play. So, this win was a sweet victory in itself. This win qualifies them to play in the Midwest Youth Basketball Nationals in June 2007. The 11U Elite Girls also qualified to go to Nationals. Both of these teams are coached by Byron Thompson.

Alabama Elite 12U Girls win Back-to-Back YBOA State Championships

The "Elite" Four-Peat!
The Alabama Elite 14U Girls basketball team made it Four-In-A-Row after beating Decatur Glory 56-43 in the finals of the 14U YBOA Girls State Tournament held at Calhoun Coummunity College. The Elite has now won all Alabama State Tournaments entered since 2004. Five of the members on the 2007 team have played for every squad. Those members are Danielle Conaway, Amara Mayers, Mechie McNealey, Alexis Parkes & Kyandra Ravenel. This year's YBOA state tourney did not have many teams as past years but the quality of teams was still there. Delisa Madry, Amara Mayers, Kyandra Ravenel all made the State All-Tournament team while Mechie McNealey was named the State Tournament Most Valuable Player.
