Successful Showcase - Crossroads of America 2009

The Crossroads of America College Showcase offered the Magic, their first showcase experience of 2009.  After many research projects and contacting college coaches in the early spring, the Magic girls found great benefit from these steps in this process.  A minimum of 25 college coaches took in each Magic game and many expressed future interest.

Disney Showcase - A Positive Experience!

From December 31st to January 2nd, the Magic took part in one of the most prestigous college showcases in the United States.  The Disney College Showcase in Kississmee, Florida brings together 400 college coaches and the top US talent.  For months prior to the showcase, the girls worked through "College Bound Projects" which helped them determine possible schools of interest and finished with each player contacting 25-30 college coaches.  This process paid off, as the Magic had an impressive group of spectators for each game.  A fantastic way to enter the recruiting process.

Visiting the Purdue Dressing Room

The Magic College Bound program has begun!  We have already had initial parent/player information sessions on "How to obtain a U.S. college athletic scholarship", college research project one is completed, player profiles have been created and U.S. college coaches have been contacted in order to create some interest in our athletes over the next few years.

The Magic had a successful weekend on and off the field at one of the United States Premier College Showcases.  The trip started with a stop at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne University for a tour, dinner and a Q&A with the IPFW Women's Soccer Staff.  The next morning began with a bang at Purdue University!  The girls had the opportunity to tour the campus, shop at the bookstore, meet some Purdue players and sit down for a Q&A with the PU Women's Head Coach.  Off to the field, were the Magic finished with a 1-1-1 record, meet our staff expectations and created some interest from College Coaches following the Sunday performance.

Looking forward to the next step in this process!
