AIR CITY VOLLEYBALL CLUB

This site provides detailed information of the Air City Volleyball Club,
a competitive program for young men in the Dayton, Ohio metroplex. 

Tryout dates for the 2009-2010 winter juniors program will be the first week of November, 2009.  Beavercreek High School will host tryouts on Sunday, November 1 and Sunday, November 8.  South Metro Sports will host tryouts on Saturday, November 7.

Players should attend times for their specific age group.  A player's age for our association is determined by how old he will be as of September 1, 2010.  Players should plan to arrive 1/2 hour prior to their age group tryout time to check in.  The is a one-time $15 tryout fee associatied with the tryout sessions. 

Sunday, November 1 at Beavercreek HS.  14 & under age group 12pm to 1:30pm; 15 & 16's age group 1:30pm to 3pm; 17 & 18's age group 3pm to 5pm.

Saturday, November 7 at South Metro Sports.  14 & under 9am to 10:30am; 15 & 16's 9am to 10:30am; 17 & 18's 10:30am to 12pm.

Sunday, November 8 at Beavercreek HS.  14 & under age group 12pm to 1:30pm; 15 & 16's age group 1:30pm to 3pm; 17 & 18's age group 3pm to 5pm.

Players/families will be notified no later than Wednesday, November 11, with regard to if a player will be made an offer to join a team or if a player has been placed on a waiting list for a team.  After offers are made, players have a 10 day period to accept or reject the offer.

The 2009-2010 Winter Program Informational Guide has been published to our Handouts section.  This Guide contains all the details of our club's winter program.  Tryout dates/times, club policies, projected tournaments, and costs have been provided.

The tryout registration form, OVR Liability Waiver, and 2010 Medical Release have been added as well.  Please download these items and complete the forms using the player's full legal name (no nicknames or shortened names).  These forms will need to be turned in at tryouts or at a team's first practice.

The complete list of teams and players has been posted to our Handouts section as of this evening.  Phone numbers are NOT listed on any handouts because I will not post personal contact information for players on the internet.  A copy of the schedule with contact information will be provided on Wednesday night to players. 

Teams were formed with the best efforts of (1) having proper position players on each team, (2) maintaining the off-season limit of 3 players per school on a roster, (3) honoring players' requests to be paired with friends and/or those with whom you share rides.

 League play will begin on September 16th and run for 5 weeks on Wednesday nights.  Have fun, enjoy the competition, learn some new things, and make a few new friends. 

It was determined to put some players on a training group rather than on a league team.  This group will be coached by long-time Air City Boys coach Mr. Gary Parker.  This group is scheduled from 8pm to 9pm each Wednesday night.  If you have been selected for the training group and choose not to participate, please contact Coach Moser.  Refunds will be provided for anyone who has paid in advance and chooses to withdraw.
