Registration Next Steps

Once you complete the online registration process you will receive an electronic copy of your receipt. On there it indicates what documentation needs to be submitted to finish the registration.

  • New players have to submit a Birth Certificate or Government identification that shows the players birthdate.
  • All players have to submit a recent Utility Bill showing your residence in Arizona.

You may either send copies of the birth certificate and utility bill electronically by email as attachments or mailing in printed copies. Either way the birth certificate is deleted/shredded once we confirm your child’s age.

To send them by email as either word, pdf or digital pictures (if clear and readable) to:

To send them by mail send them to:

Attn: Documents Fall 2015
PO Box 93565
Phoenix, AZ 85070

The best way for you to check the status if they have been received or not is to log back into the registration system and it will show if they have been processed. Please be aware that updating the status is often done late in the registration window and has been known to run behind. Documentation will not prevent your player from being placed on a team and practicing but issues with an age may cause a change in division and team before games start.

Communication from the League generally begins about a week out from the assigning of teams for the younger groups and the skills evaluations for the older groups. Generally there are welcome messages form the League President and your Division Director as well as reminders about the Skills Evaluations for those registered in Divisions that utilize them for the Coach's Draft.

Team assignments are generally announced late in that weekend that Skills Evaluations occur and Registration officially closes. Your coach will contact you by email or phone or both with the Team information and 1st Practice location and time. If it gets to Tuesday of that week and you have not heard anything, please use the Contact Us tab on the website or email your Division Director indicating you have not heard anythign yet.

We hope this process is smooth for you but if any issues occur, we try to learn from them to make next season better.

Enjoy your season!

Mustang & Bronco Baseball Skills Evaluations

If your registered your player for either of the Mustang or Bronco Recreation Baseball Divisions, then there will be a Skills Evaluations session for your player to attend just before teams are formed and practices start.

Generally the last weekend of registration, players attend a skills and drills session where the coaches for your players division observe and evaluate their skills. Coaches use this to determine who they want to draft to their team and in what order. In some years even trades occur after drafts are completed.

Look for announcements for the date and time of the sessions on the AFPBA website, on our Facebook or Twitter pages or in emails from the AFPBA that will be sent out starting about a week prior.

If your player cannot attend their session, they will be placed on a team by a coach doing a blind draft or from the division director assigning players in a round-robin manner.

Once the teams are finalized the season is ready to begin and the coaches will contact the families and give the 1st practice details.
