JV Mercy's another

"Get out the butter cuase the JV team is on a roll."

Trying to make up for their only loss in the first half of the season, the JV team mercied Simi Valley 12 - 2 in 5 innings on Thursday afternoon. This was their 4th mercy in league and 5th over all this season. Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Calabasas and now Simi have all felt the pounding of the bats that this AHS JV team can provide.

Kelcie Brodsky added to her "hit list" with 3 more hits including a Home run and 3 RBI. Taylor Harmon and Natalie Fersht had 2 hits each and Harmon added 3 RBI as well.

Keep your eye on this team because they seem to have alot to show us.

Great job girls, keep up the good work!!

End of the first half

The first half has come to an end and both teams have done well. The Varsity team finished 4-3 and in  a tie for 3rd. The JV team went 5-1-1 and appear to be in first place on the JV level.

Varsity has been playing well and making a move towards the playoffs by hitting well and having solid pitching. Stefany Valentino, Shannon Kaufman and Julie Lewis have all made strong contributions at the plate and Stephanie Lord and Allie Schneider have done well in the circle.

For more info on the Varsity team, please visit www.maxpreps.com and search Agoura High school. There you will find stats, photos and more.

The JV team has been punishing teams in the first half and playing quality softball the likes that haven't been seen on AHS JV the past few years.

The growth of Sophomores Kellie Speer, Ashley Kellenberger, Megan Earle and Shannon Cullen have made a big impact on the team as well as the new comers, Freshman Kelcie Brodsky, Natalie Fersht and Taylor Harmon.

Ashley has logged most of the innings in the circle and has held teams to limited runs with the help of a strong "D" behind her. Natalie Fersht has been a rock behind the plate making adjustments and allowing as few balls as any catcher in the league to get by her. The "battery duo" of Kellenberger & Fersht has made a name for themselves in this league.

Top Producers for the first half:

Ave.  Slg%. Obs%. RBI Runs HRs

K. Brodsky .415 .756 .532 15 14 2

K. Speer .333 .333 .434 3 16

The team as a whole has done a terrific job under first year Head Coach Casey Kaufman. All the players have contributed in one way or another, base running, defense and hitting. We look forward to a great second half of the season for this strong JV team.
