Agoura High School Girls Soccer enjoys a proud tradition of championship play, competitive spirit and the highest standards of good sportsmanship and personal integrity. It is certain that all girls recommended to the honor of participation in the program will well live up to that tradition, and will exemplify the best of American young womanhood.
Our coaching philosophy may be summarized as follows: Soccer is a game and, as with all games, at the high school level, is supposed to be played for fun -- at least in part. However, as there is a consensus among players, coaches, parents and fans that it is MORE fun to win than to lose, our teams will do all that is possible, within the framework of fair play and safety, to win every game we play, by striving to play that level of individually skillful and tactically precise soccer that would meet the approval of even the most discriminating soccer player or fan. But it means little to merely say that we want to win, for every competitor wants to win. Success in soccer, or in any endeavor, is derived from a willingness to put forth the effort and make the sacrifices called for to PREPARE TO WIN. Thus, in all respects, each player must, and will, be fully prepared to win.
With rigorous training sessions directed toward improving individual and team performance, no player should find the program an easy one. But, in the self-satisfaction of meeting challenging but realistic goals, each will be afforded the opportunity of having the most enjoyable and rewarding soccer experience of all their seasons in sport.
The coaching staff welcomes each player and her family to the Agoura High School Girls Soccer program, and to the opportunity for each player to realize her unbounded potential, on and off the field.
