After going through Friday’s pool play with two wins, slammers baseball needed just 1 win on Saturday to earn the #1 seed in elimination. We started the game scoring early with a three run blast over the fence to take an early lead. However it wouldn’t hold up as the Elizabethtown Heartland team scored 5 in the game, and that is all they would need to take the #1 seed for the elimination round. In the elimination round the slammers started the first game scoring early and often and proved to be on their “a” game with a 20 run output in the early session. In the final game the slammers were re-matched with the Heartland team they had been beaten buy the previous day. But when it counted the slammers came up with key pitching and timely hitting in a scorching 95 degree game.
