WELCOME TO ARLINGTON FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (AFA)

AFA Field

We are please to see you and your child are interested in football or cheerleading at Arlington Football Association. Affiliation with this Association requires an extreme amount of time, sacrifice and commitment for both parents and kids; this is not realized until after the season begins. We feel that it is very important that parents and children understand and discuss fully the responsibilities, dedication and obligation it takes to participate at AFA. Football and Cheerleading is a 4 to 5 month commitment beginning in August and ends in December.   Please understand that any missed games and practices must be worked out with the head coach.

Our fees are $150 for Football and $325 for Cheerleaders new to the park and $225 for returning Cheerleaders. Payments are due in order at the time of registration.  All payments are non-refundable NO EXCEPTION. (Unpaid NSF fees will be submitted to the State Attorney’s Office for collection) All football equipment and uniforms are the property of AFA and shall be returned at the end of the season.

Coaches, football players, cheerleaders and parents are expected to abide by a strict policy concerning discipline, behavior, and the respect toward others adults and children.  Affiliation with the association is a privilege and can be revoked by the board of directors due to misconduct at anytime during the season.  All children are encouraged to maintain good grades and reports cards will be collected.

PRACTICES:

Beginning of August - 4 nights a week two hours per night

Practices not totaling more than 10 hours a week

After Labor Day – 3 nights a week two hours per night

Practice not totaling more than 6 hours a week.

GAMES:

Each player will have eight regular season games.  Play-off games are contingent on the team’s record and availability of competition.

This is a volunteer organization; all board members, coaches and team moms are donating their time.  To make AFA the BEST Association in Jacksonville, we need parents to get involved!!! If everyone contributes a little we can accomplish a lot.  Remember, this is volunteer work and NO ONE GETS PAID.  It’s all about fun for the kids.
