The Jags offense exploded for 49 first half points and the defense created several key 2nd half turnovers for the win! Jags go to 2-0!

Varsity Beats Sanderson 28-16!   The Jags defense shuts down the Spartans and the offense clicks in the 2nd half to pull away. Jags go to 3-0!

The Varsity also started off slowly at Sanderson last Friday night, but by the second quarter, behind a swarming defense, they shut down the home team. In the second half, the defense continued their dominance, and the offense jumped all over the Spartans as the Jaguars pulled decisively ahead, and went on to record their third straight win, 28-16, before a large and extremely vocal visiting crowd and cheerleading crew.

9/17 - Game 4: Varsity Beats Broughton 35-10!

The Varsity had to withstand a postponement on Friday night, but came out strong Monday evening to defeat Broughton at home before a large and happy crowd, and the Time Warner cameras. The Caps stayed close for a while, but Athens' talent and depth took over toward the end of the first half, and the game was never in doubt after that, as the Jags raised their record to 4-0.

JV Lost to Broughton 14-31 The JV team dug themselves into a hole early in the game with a blocked punt resulting in a Broughton score. The Jags came out on fire after half time with an onside kick that lead to a touchdown to pull within 9 but a few mistakes and a tough Broughton team lead to a Jags loss.

The Varsity blitzed to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and held on against a strong Apex team that would not quit.

Athens Drive 49 - Fuquay-Varina 21!

The Jags offense overpowered the Bengal defense with 35 first half points and over 600 yards for the game! The Jaguar defense controlled the Bengal offense only giving up 2 scores during the game and 0 points in the 2nd half!

Athens Drive falls to Fuquay-Varina 28-8

Jags play even with the Bengals but lost scoring chances were the difference.

10/12 - Game 8:

Athens Drive 47 - Lee County 28!

The Jags defense locked down the Yellow Jacket offense in the 1st half to keep the Jags in the game as the offense sputtered. But the offense started clicking in the 2nd half and the defense had some key stops to pull out the thrilling comeback win in the 4th quarter! Lee County played a great game and the final score was not at all indicative of how close the game - the outcome uncertain with a few minutes left!

In a thrilling game, Lee County scored on a 4th down pass with 17 seconds left to pull out a hard fought game against the Jags.

Athens Drive beats Panther Creek 16-14!

The JV Jags held off a determined Panther Creek team.  The Jags were able to rise up after some mistakes to get the win with a notable safety that wound up being the difference in the game.

10/29 - Game 10: Middle Creek 42 - Athens Drive 28

The Jags struggled early in all phases of the game and fell behind 21-0. Things started to get going in the 2nd half but Athens Drive could not overcome the large deficit. The Jaguars are 9-1. The Tri-8 conference has a 3-way tie for first place heading into the last weekend of the regular season.

The JV Jags played a hard fought game, pulling out a score in the last minute with a wide receiver pass for a touchdown.  The defense spent a lot of time on the field in the second half but held strong to stop Middle Creek's last stand.

Athens Drive JV beats Green Hope 36-14 for season finale!

The JV Jags jumped out to an early 16-0 lead, taking advantage of a few Green Hope turn overs.  Green Hope tried to fight back but the JV team turned up the heat on offense and defense to close the season out with a solid win.

Athens Drive beats Wakefield in a thriller! The Jags' Philliip Barren blocked a game wining field goal attempt with 7 seconds left to win the game! The victory is the first playoff win in Athens Drive history!
