Reminders: * Monday December 1 - 6:00 PM - Fall Sports Awards at Athens Drive HS * Thursday December 4 - 6:30 PM - Football Banquet at Raleigh Church of Christ Season Summary: The Jaguars, who were missing many players due to injuries throughout the year, finished the season with a 4-8 record. Playing with most players back last Friday, they showed how things could have been, as they had the best of a talented 9-3 PAC-6 champion Southern team for most of the night. Jags lose to Southern Durham in a playoff heartbreaker 8-7 Athens Drive controlled the game with an early score and an inspired effort by the defense. A late touchdown and 2-point conversion by the Pac-6 co-champs was the difference. It was a great game and the Jags left everything on the field. We're proud of you team! Halloween night ended up cursing the Jags. As if the injury toll hadn't been ridiculous all year for the team, it reached a new level tonight. As the Jags were dominating and jumped to a 20-7 lead early in the 2nd quarter, both Snotherly quarterbacks were lost to injury in the first half. The team never stopped fighting but couldn't hold on, losing 25-20. Playoff hopes are still alive - This should explain the scenarios - HSOT - A jumbled mess in the Tri-8... The Jags again jumped on their opponent early and took a 6-0 lead in the first half. After stalling in the red zone at the end of the half, the Jags found themselves down 18-6. The Jags picked up another TD in the 2nd half and played one of their strongest games of the year, but couldn't capitalize on several other scoring opportunities. In the end, the Mustangs had a 33-12 win.
