Twenty three games across two and a half months flies by. The Jags had very good season filled with some great wins and a few heartbreaking losses. The team was 13-10 overall coming in fourth in the conference at 8-4. The team will be saying goodbye to five seniors, Connor Lucovsky, Wyatt Medlin, Will Smith, Ross Snotherly, and Drew Woodall who were the backbone of the Jags offense scoring 76 of 137 runs and driving in 71 of 123 RBIs.
The Jags offense dominated at the plate batting over 40 points higher than their opponents and slugging an incredible 164 points higher anchored by the 23 homeruns this season. The Jags drove in 55 more runs than their opponents and on the mound the team gave up 1.5 fewer earned runs a game than their opponents. They started the season off with a 5 game win streak and capped off the regular season with a dramatic 4 game win streak including wins over the top two teams in the conference to secure a playoff position. Except for a couple of games, the Jags were in every game until the last inning posing a threat with their extremely potent line up at the plate. The team comes back strong next season with two starting pitchers returning along with three other pitchers who came on strong at the end of the season and a total of 9 underclassman returning to the field.
Some key team and individual stats for the season (keeping in mind these are not the "official" stats from the team book...but they should be close):

The Jags wound up in a slugfest with Millbrook during their first playoff game. Ross Snotherly started the Jags off with a homerun in the top of the first but Millbrook came roaring back with 2 in the first and 3 in the second stringing together a series of hits. Blair Betts started the game and the Jags were able to quiet Millbrook down until they threatened in the 4th with bases loaded and no outs. Chris Williams took the mound and great Jags defense shut Millbrook's offensive down in three pitches with a double play by David Hamm on a line drive also getting the runner at first. On the next pitch the Jags caught the runner on third trying to steal home. The defense inspired the Jags to three runs in the top of the 5th to tie the game up but Millbrook once again came roaring back with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The game closed out a good season for the Jags coming in fourth in the conference and having a tremendous second half of the season in conference play.
