: About our league
Tuesday, July 10The ACYFA Board of Directors welcomes you to our website, and encourages you to register your player online by clicking the REGISTER link on the left, or clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
The Armstrong Cooper Youth Football Association offers an organized program that teaches the fundamentals of football for players in grades 2 8.
The ACYFA league is made up of several playing levels.
The 2nd and 3rd grade division is an instructional league where the focus is on fundamentals.
The 4th and 5th grade division is an in-house league with approx 8 - 10 teams. Teams play other teams from our league and have a end of year playoff.
The 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams each compete with other teams of the same grade in the LMAA league.
With over 300 players signing up every year, local high schools use us as a talent pool for future recruits. Here are a few of the reasons to join:
1. Competitive: Our program uses a draft system that balances size and skill level to ensure competitive teams throughout the league.
2. Affordable: $195 per player pays for the use of all equipment (excluding shoes), fields, referees, and awards. Players jerseys are theirs to keep. This is one of the most affordable youth football programs in the Twin Cities.
3. Inclusive: League rules require that everyone plays at least half of the game, regardless of their ability or position.
4. Fun: We offer many opportunities for players to get involved, including:
Training Camp: We teach all of the fundamental skills of offense, defense, and special teams over a four-week period.
Jamboree: This is an all day event that provides scrimmages with three teams before the regular season starts.
Regular Season: The regular season has an eight-game schedule, with scores and standings tracked on our website.
Metrodome: We end the season with scrimmages inside the Minneapolis Metrodome, where the Vikings play!
Awards Banquet: All players receive awards that acknowledge their teams accomplishments throughout the year.
A limited number of scholarships are available for those with the greatest need. Please call 763-390-2042 to request a scholarship form, or for more program information. Upcoming events are available by clicking the "ACYFA Flyer" link below.
