The Falcons continued their winning ways by defeating the Longhorns 25-0 in the regular season final game.
The Falcons took immediate control of the snow covered field and never looked back. Scoring on their first possesion with a long touchdown run by Joe Dols, the Falcons established a dominance at the line of scrimmage that would control the entire game. After a strong defensive stance, the Falcons scored again with Brandon Bluford. The extra point attempt was again denied.
Strong defensive play by Jake Shiff, Joe Dols, Elijah Handerson and Isaiah Harken held the Longhorns to minimal yardage throughout the game. Offensive line play by Nathan Shapiro and Henderson continued to open huge runways for the backs. Dols and Bluford each contributed another touchdown to finish the scoring on a 25-0 victory. Strong running by Michael Rouse, Parker Phillips, and Griffin Skoglund kept the Longhorns defense on the field at the end of the game.
The Falcons finish the season 5-1-0 with a #3 seed. They will play the Steelers on Monday 10/19 at 7:30pm in the 1st round of play-offs.
Friday, October 9
The Falcons moved their record to 4-1 with a convincing 26-0 victory over a strong Patriots team.
The Falcons took control of the game early with dominating line play from Elijah Henderson, Nathan Shapiro, Tyreese Henderson, and Griffin Skoglund. They swept into the end zone for a quick 6-0 lead with a 34 yard touchdown run by Brandon Bluford.
The Falcons recovered the kick-off and immediately attacked a tired defense. Bluford again scored on another great run. Jake Shiff added the extra point to put the Falcons in the lead 13-0.
The most impressive ball controlling drive of the year occurred at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. The Falcons received the kick-off and methodically pounded their way down the field. The drive consumed the entire 3rd quarter and part of the 4th quarter - destroying any opportunity by the Patriots to rally. Stephon Johnson ran out of his shoe to score the 3rd touchdown.
The Falcons weren't finished as they drove for one additional touchdown by Joe Dols - his 1st of the year. Michael Rouse drove his way into the end zone for the extra point, giving the Falcons a 26-0 victory.
The line play was dominant - as was the defensive play by Teyvion Henderson, Parker Phillips, and Isaiah Harken. Joe Dols and Jake Shiff also contributed on defense - stopping any momentum by the Patriots throughout the game.
The Falcons will finish the regular season on Monday, October 12th when the play the Longhorns. The game is at PMS field C at 6:00pm.
